Asakusa London
● Closed“Made a reservation before coming here on a Thursday night after work and was happy that we did because 15 minutes after we sat down the restaurant was already half-filled! Last time I came here was 4 years ago and this time round I ordered the exact same dish - Kaisen don, and its safe to say that this place managed to keep it's high standard! I was very happy with the food as the sashimi was extremely fresh, came in a big portion with a layer of rice at the bottom. Thoroughly enjoyed every single bite of it and even though it's now £15 more expensive than 4 years ago I thought it was a nice treat since I don't come here often. Service was friendly, only downside was that the waiters didn't seem to be attentive enough as we had to wait and eventually ask them to come over and take our order. Other than that we had a very enjoyable experience overall. The interior is very authentic, homely, Japanese style which made me feel like I was back in Japan. Definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic Japanese food and I will for sure come back here soon to try other things on the menu!”

NALA Japanese Restaurant
● Closed“Stumbled across Nala and what a great find for superb quality sushi. Small upstairs seating area but there is a downstairs as well. Friendly welcome and everything freshly prepared to order. Tried the Genmai tea and small hot sake to drink. To eat, I had the Takoyaki which was piping hot and melt in your mouth (no chewy octopus in sight) with spicy salmon, fatty tuna with spring onion and tried the snow crab and flying fish roe gunkan. Tons of flavour, perfect temperature of the rice and well balanced flavours. Can’t recommend enough for quality sushi that’s well priced. Happy Eating! Olly”

Chisou Japanese Restaurant Knightsbridge
● Closed“Amazing food and fantastic service. The sashimi we had had great variety and very good freshness and flavour. The nigiri was good too, so was the alcohol. The dessert bento was also plenty & the chocolate dessert was very rich, contrasted very well with the fruit. I’m definitely coming back here again!”

Tempura prawns are a must, lightly battered and juicy prawns. Duck spring rolls were great. Aromatic special roll was delicious!! As well as the spicy scallop temaki. Finished off with coconut mochi ice cream, first time trying mochi and it won't be the last!”

So Japanese Restaurant
● Closed“Visited the place for the 1st time when it’s moved to city from Piccadilly Circus. Taste hasnt changed and remains high / above average tier among Japanese restaurants in London. Strongly recommend the grilled Eel rice, great portion at reasonable price. Decoration seems changed, used to be more high end decor while now looks more average (i.e more formal than wasabi say) but depends on if you are coming for taste or ambiance.”

Yokoso Korean & Japanese Restaurant
● Closed“Dined here after a motinee at The Space and was not disappointed. Staff were super polite and friendly. The are separate menus for Japanese and Korean dishes which makes it easy to select what you want. I ordered the prawn gyozas and king prawn bipambap all of which was fresh and delicious. I was asked if I wanted mochi and couldn't be rude. Lovely way to finish off my meal. There was no rush to leave and I did not feel awkward dining alone. Will definitely visit again.”

Radisson Blu Edwardian Heathrow Hotel & Conference Centre, London
● Open“Stayed here whilst working nearby. Hotel has a very grand entrance/foyer. Room was fairly spacious and had everything we needed. Was a bit of a maze in the hotel, with lots of corridors. I went for a bit of a wander and there are lots of function rooms situated to the top of the hotel. When we stayed it was quiet so we had a good nights sleep. Staff were friendly and helped when our key card stopped working.”

(And the one who takes the orders ain't half bad looking either ;-) )”

The Japanese Canteen
● Closed“Good food for reasonable price in the centre of city. Any chicken soup is good but I can highly recommend one with Sichuan pepper - chicken tantanmen noodle soup. On my image it is on the left. That is something very special really. And it is quite cheap here 8.5 £ or so. Overall place is just fine, clean.”
