Tortilla Kingston
● Closed“Wow what a place!! Someone on a random whattsapp group told me to give this place a good review. Iv heard no one has been stabbed there which is a great bonus if your bringing the family. Half way through the meal a kindly horse was helping an old Mexican man eat his soup. Tirelessly attempting to scoop up the broth with his big powerful hooves. Wow.”

Yimchai (Kingston)
● Closed“This I think is how chinese food should be made. Simple looking but impeccable flavours. I’d come back very often. Very reasonable prices and accommodating service from the team. We ordered the Prawn Curry and Braised Pork. The taste of the curry is authentic and not too overpowering. The pork is so soft I did not even have to chew. Well sone!”

Sushi Gourmet (in Sainsburys)
● Closed1 Sury Basin, Kingston Upon Thames KT2 5NZ, United Kingdom“Wow!!! This is a fantastic and convenient spot to get sushi whenever you want it. This is because this sushi gourmet place has a large range of options and choice. The choices vary from the simplicity of a Nigiri to salads and big rolls. It has options of small and £10 boxes of nigiri and other sushi rolls and bigger portions of £20 that are more complicated rolls. It has deliveroo as takeaway and delivery service. However, it’s in Sainsbury’s in the centre right at the back of the store. This doesn’t mean that it has a bigger difference on this gourmet style and other Japanese restaurant. It only contains sushi and not brothers or other Japanese dishes as it’s only a Sushi Gourmet. When I go there I always get the nigiri rolls because they’re fresh and simple and also delicious. I’ve also been to other Japanese authentic restaurants and it’s different regarding the taste of the sushi because it’s not a chain but a single restaurant. However it’s not that big of a difference regarding freshness.”

● Closed“Amazing food, lovely staff and amazing option available for people who are Vegan…definitely a go to place if you are in Kingston”
-
Patio Pizza
● Closed“Top quality pizza!! Similar to what another reviewer mentioned; too often you order "classic" neopolitan pizza and the toppings either slide off, or there is no crunch and you need to use a knife and fork - that is not the case here. Bases are immaculately firm and crispy, toppings are generous and high quality. Just an all round top drawer pizza”

Lotus House
● Closed9 Cambridge Road, Kingston Upon Thames KT1 3NG, United Kingdom“I live somewhere else now and obviously I’ve tried many Chinese takeaways in Britain and around the world and nothing compares to this take away! I’ve had it since I was a kid, the food is always tasty, their spicy squid with chilli and salt is amazing, no other Chinese makes it like they do. The lady who runs the restaurant is also one of the most lovely, attentive person. Truly recommend this place!”

The Albion
● Closed“I've featured my local Big Smoke pub before but on the rare occasion I found The Albion mostly empty, and serving the exceptional A&H London Black from the official glassware, I figured it was time to feature a review. I believe this was the second pub Big Smoke opened, building on the success of The Antelope in Surbiton. It's been here as long as I can remember, and at one stage had a Gin Distillery out the back which I think is now just garden seating (opted not to pap this, but there's a huge garden there with beer festivals held in the summer). Indoors, it's familiar to those who know the chain. Wooden panelling, ample seating, vinyl soundtracked vibe, 10+ ales and ciders, a multitude of keg offerings too including 2 AF options in the form of Lucky Saint and their own AF beer which has gone down well over the past month. You get a mixture of students, weekend shoppers, families and real ale folk in here, it's a nice melting pot of booze enthusiasts and those looking for a pub not surrounded by Vape Shops, a step away from the town centre, outside of the rampant demolition you see taking over Kingston. It's sort of a home away from home, despite only being some 15-20 minutes down the road from me, a chain familiarity but still less polished than those brand new Big Smoke pubs you spot in greater London. With time to kill it can be a quiet respite from the hustle and bustle of town, but with Rugby on and one of the few spacious family friendly pubs in the area it can get quite hectic. A nice problem to have for Big Smoke. Food again is similar to the other sites, a sort of BBQ meets pub grub style, with plenty of bits in-between to choose from. See the place pack out for weekends with roasts on, and various offers during the week. The pub dates back to 1845, little known about its history other than it was advertised as a sort of taproom with a view to watch the recreational sports on the green. Once Greene King, now Big Smoke, another one saved from mediocrity.”

Ranya Restaurant
● Closed41 Fife Road, Kingston Upon Thames KT1 1SF, United Kingdom“Great food and service. We tried lamb tashreeb and Iraqi special kebab. Both tasted good and flavourful. They also give a lentil soup as a complementary which itself is delicious. Liked their ayran also, which was made in-house.”

Chilli Cha Cha
● Closed“I don’t know even know where to start, this place makes the best takeaway food, the chicken tikka wraps are just heavenly, amazing with fresh Nan. The chicken is just so fresh and juicy. You just don’t want it to finish, that’s how good it is. Best quality food, the staff are amazing, very kind, specially the uncle who works there. My favourite food place in Kingston. Keep it up.”
-
Coffee Break
● Closed35-37 Eden Street, Kingston Upon Thames KT1 1BW, United Kingdom“I don’t often do reviews as you’ll see from my profile. However, we had such a great “full English Breakfast” this morning (15/01) that I’m getting up off my lazy butt to support this independent cafe. Tasty food, great price, convenient location and friendly service. We will definitely be back which I suppose is the best review?”
-
Tiffani Coffee Shop
● Closed85 Crescent Road, Kingston Upon Thames KT2 7RE, United Kingdom“Such a handy coffee shop. Doesn't look that special from the outside but very tasty food - paninis, baguettes, jacket potatoes etc. Also delicious baklava as well as freshly baked pastries & bread and a few other things like eggs & flour. Also really friendly owner so I'd recommend this place.”
-
Canbury Secret Cafe
● Closed“A gem in the park. Great coffee, unique savoury and sweet pastries. Ice cream selection is small but exceptional (made in fresh soft ice cream machines). Unbeatable on a sunny day with the river 20 meters away. The owners put great effort in every aspect of this place and it shows. Incredibly reasonable pricing.”

Marsa Charcoal Grill + Wafflemeister
● Closed6 Fife Road, Kingston Upon Thames KT1 1SZ, United Kingdom“A nice new find in Kingston, very spacious and the garden at the back is a nice touch! We were welcomed by the owner who was friendly and welcoming. Last week I had a takeaway cappuccino, and this week I decided to sit in and try the chai latte which I devoured alongside a vegan croissant! My friend had the carrot cake and she said it was nice. I normally go to pret, but now I’ll probably go here because the coffee is much nicer (& organic!!) and it’s peaceful!! They have paninis too, might try next time I’m in town.”
-
Kingfisher
● Closed153 King's Road, Kingston Upon Thames KT2 5JF, United Kingdom“What I really like about this place is the batter on the fish, it's very tasty but moreover, really light batter. Often at chip shops the batter is heavy and greasy but here it's light.”
