Cozy night out in Kingston Upon Thames

“This place was great! Authentic German restaurant with nice outlook over the river. Wait staff dressed accordingly and everyone was very welcoming. It’s very meat based (as would be expected) but they have some veggie/vegan options which my friends enjoyed. I had sausages, mash and sauerkraut which was yum! And of course all the beer and wine is German too. Recommend booking ahead as it gets busy - but we were luckily able to get a walk-in on a Saturday night. We were in the smoking area outside but no one was actually smoking. Tables are big and good for groups. Will be back!”

“This is a lovely pub with a friendly and helpful landlord! It's near both bus and train station, in Kingston! Had a great pint of Irish real ale! We also had a really good meal, a mixed grill, which was also a good price and filled us up, we will b going back!!”

“A excellent range of real ales and ciders . A large interior with a bar in the middle. Snooker table and board games available. A exchange book service too. Also does pizzas to eat in with which where very nice as we tried three out of the four on offer Light music on throughout the pub and TV Screens showing sport but they will switch off if annoying. Well worth going to.”

I was there working as a digital nomad during the day and despite the fact the young lady on the bar was alone in the morning, she went out of her way to check I was okay whilst managing other customers. “Nicole and izzie were amazing, so friendly and they gave an outstanding service. Drinks were perfect. Free sport on projectors and tv’s all around the place. There’s the option to play some snooker/pull if you’re up for it. Cheap drinks, student discount, a great mix of music (80s-present) and very friendly service. I would highly, highly recommend to anyone who wants a great night.”

“Well every now and then your find a gem and wildwood hits the bill !!! Service was very quick and attentive . I had the calamari for starters and the classic burger for mains the calamari was lightly seasoned as it should be fresh and vibrant the burger was cooked to perfection with fabulous quality beef seasoned again perfectly . Home made fries are perfectly cooked . My wife and daughter had pasta dishes and they said the flavours were so intense and aromatic .. Highly highly recommended and don't let that kitchen team leave you have keepers there !!!.”

Nicola the landlady was very welcoming and Charlie the bar man was very attentive and comical. Will be back next week for dinner after Christmas shopping. A definite yes from us.”

I order their pizza and it was lovely, since then I returned to have coffee and cakes as well as lunch, and far all products very fresh and well prepared. The staff are always very friendly and keen to exceed my expectations. Family friendly and good choice for lunch.”
