“Had a great experience here last night with friends. There was 4 of us and 2 babies… they made sure they gave us a table with plenty of space for the pushchairs and were very accommodating. The staff were super friendly and attentive. Food was delicious and had a good atmosphere... also felt it was very reasonable price wise. There was also a few parking spots out the front too! Will definitely be visiting again!”

“Heard about this place and it’s reputation for being one of London’s hottest new eat spots. Went for lunch to try it out and was amazed. Bacon and egg tacos with a Mexican twist! Simple street food but way elevated above your average. Head now before they move to a bigger restaurant!”

“Adore this place, I come here often during my work lunch hour. Service is amazing, so attentive. they really go out of their way, whether that is asking if i want my hot drink reheated when I hadn't drunk it during my meal, or just noticing little details. And generally their manner of speaking with people is really kind ane friendly. The owners have created a really lovely atmosphere and even though I don't know anyone there, I really like hearing the owners and customers all chatting away, it's very cute.”

“Mugs Patisserie has to be my favourite coffee shop in Twickenham. I love coming here on a Saturday or Sunday morning for a slow relaxed cup of cafe and a pastry/cake. It can get busy but not in the same hectic/heaving way you may see in 1-2 other places in Twickenham, nor is it the empty soulless place you see with so many chains. This hits the sweet spot and the pastries are wonderful and coffee great. The staff always offer a big smile on arrival. There is some writing on the wall that says “You cannot make everyone happy - you are not coffee”. A little place of joy!”

“I've only ever driven through Cheam before my visit yesterday, a trip by public transport (tram and train) from Croydon specifically to visit the Whitehall museum, housed in a grade II* listed former domestic dwelling dating from before the reign of Henry VIII. While the museum is an important place of reference for local history, geared more towards children than adults, it also houses the excellent Freedom Caffe' tearoom. The restrictions imposed by such an old, historic house may mean they can't use a normal commercial coffee machine but the range of soft drinks is impressive and more importantly, the vegan options for lunch are delicious. I highly recommend both the vegan sausage roll with salad and the vegan Greek. Then there are the cakes... The only vegan option on the day was a chocolate pear and apple cake but it was gorgeous and the staff were attentive and friendly and the food reasonably priced. I also noted the fresh pasta preparation. There's more to Cheam than the museum but whatever else you're doing it's well worth making sure you visit the Freedom Caffe' for a drink and a bite to eat.”

“We were visiting family in the area and happened across this lovely café. Very friendly owner & staff. We were so impressed on our first visit that we ate lunch there the following day too. Both days the food was lovely. Great choice of deli style sandwiches/rolls - we chose ciabatta - and the fillings were plentiful, fresh and a bit different to the usual run of the mill sandwiches offered in many other cafés. We also tried their eggs benedict which were cooked to perfection. Fruit smoothies were also terrific. They also offer cakes & pastries. Very reasonable prices too. We highly recommend Chai With Friends. Give it a go, you won’t be disappointed.”

“Wanted something cheer me up. Lovely staff(think the lady’s name was Helen) helped me choose treats and brewed the perfect espresso. I’m very coffee fusy and loved the coffee here. Owners roast the coffee themselves and handmake the chocolates. This place is the perfect feel good pick-me-up!”

“Lovely little place i have come across whilst cycling during lockdown easing. Always have coffee and their delightful little sausage rolls that are delicious when heated on a grill (even better now tables outside for enjoying on site). The ladies who run it are smiling their way through these difficult times and I am happy to be a regular patron. They also have some dry foods, ice cream freezer and make milk shakes. Good luck ladies.”
