Caffé Foresta
● Open95 Charlwood Street, London SW1V 4PB, United Kingdom“Sadly I cannot drink coffee however they have accommodated me on this and make me a delicious kinda proper coffee drink. The fact all of the staff know this and I don’t have to ask is special. Staff are exceptionally friendly I would recommend them all (but can’t remember names!!) I’m in a wheelchair and was surprised and touched the effort they make for me to come inside when it gets too cold or rainy. Inside is cosy and I’m wondering how I can steal the paintings on the wall.!! I recommend the chicken and avocado baguette and the pastries look good however I’m a savoury person. Being such a tiny establishment limits food menu (plus Westminster ban on cooking on premises). It is primarily a Coffee bar/cafe so shouldn’t be expected to produce a large and varied menu of food. The coffee depends I suspect on the baristas I’ve watched them make it and as in all places some better maybe more experienced than others. I do think the bad reviews are expecting too much of such a small and new establishment. Those who claim problems with the coffee should mention it politely and quietly to the staff who I’m sure will apologise and offer a replacement Here in and around the Lupus Street area have up until recently been lacking in places to have proper and decent coffee and somewhere to meet and greet The tables outside and the awning add to the tiny space inside. The staff make room for everyone by moving tables and chairs. As a non smoker I appreciate there is space away from what seem to be the ‘smokers tables’. The staff are smiling and friendly. Naturally we all have our ‘gloomy days’ however this is certainly not the norm here. Alex and Spencer are especially great and the lady with the pony tail. However all are friendly. The situation is good for those who don’t want a long trek down the road and somewhere to a drink with old and new friends Also the opening hours great. All in all I welcome the addition to our area and enjoy my visits. This is not a fast food establishment or one of the well known chains. Even they have queues and sometimes questionable coffee (according to the coffee drinkers) so don’t expect it to be.”

Brickwood

Bella Art Caffe
● Closed“A lovely independent cafe with good coffee and food, and free WiFi. I just spent nearly 5 hours hanging out here while my car was being serviced/MoT'd across the road. This is something I have done on two previous occasions over the last 3 years. Each time I have enjoyed the food, drink, service and atmosphere here. On this occasion I had two perfectly poached eggs and two very tasty sausages on toast with good, strong, tasty coffee for my breakfast. I was able to hang out, having the occasional drink, working on my laptop with their fast, and free, wi-fi. I saw plenty of places to plug in and recharge if needed too. I ended up having lunch here as well, soup of the day, which was spicy lentil, absolutely delicious, and perfect for a cold, wet, winter's day. The fact that this lovely independent cafe is here, will be a key factor in choosing the next place I go for work on the car, and although I don't live especially close I will definitely pop in if in the area.”
