Oar Restaurant & Rooms

● Closed
, Doolin V95 KV02, Ireland

“We had dinner here the other night and it was absolutely DELICIOUS. We opted for the tasting menu and were wowed by some unconventional yet totally inspired dishes. Kieran was a wonderful host, so welcoming and obviously passionate about what he does. A huge nod to the incredible staff who were so knowledgeable & friendly. The whole evening was a pleasure. It was relaxing and lacking any pretension. Oar could rival any Michelin Star and it's probably only a matter of time. Can't wait to gather more family & friends and share the experience. Thanks to all the team at Oar for a wonderful evening.”

Loru’s Italian Cafe & Restaurant

● Closed
, Ballydangan, Ireland

“A nice little restaurant in a quite remote location, great welcoming staff and atmosphere. The food is good, but unfortunately not authentic, but catered for the irish taste, which is absolutely fine considering where they are and the customers, there is no point on being authentic if people do not come to you for dinner, it's a business after all. Aside from that, even if as Italian I was not attracted at all by the pasta choices, another story are the pizze (the plural of pizza is pizze not pizzas...). The type is what we call "ruota di carro" which is the most traditional and known type outside italy. As the style imposes the crust is not too tick and fluffy and generally is crunchy. It is actually really well done and wouldn't be easily outshined in Italy. Edit: I had to bring the score for food to a solid 5, second time here I got the truffle ravioli.... it was absolutely amazing”

OSTERIA da Simone : Italian restaurant & pizzeria

● Closed
3 Saint Francis Street, Galway H91 XF1P, Ireland

“I picked this place because you could book online - my booking confirmation came through immediately. I thought the food was AMAZING! Honestly one of the best meals I've eaten - anywhere - ever! I had the vegan pizza with spicy salami (as I'm dairy free). It was cooked perfectly. And I had a side salad which was so tasty. I honestly wanted to go back the second night I was staying in Galway, but the other half insisted we should try somewhere else on Quay Street. (It was nowhere near as good.) The waitresses were so friendly and the kids enjoyed their pizza and ice-cream. I'd be back in a heart-beat. Only negative was that the black pepper grinder didn't work and neither did the second one we got. Parking was tricky, but that's just Galway for you! Honestly, give it a go - you will not be disappointed!!!!!”

Gallery Cafe,restaurant

3 Market Square, Galway H91 Y279, Ireland

“A really nice cute local spot. The menu is well designed, with interesting options. Seems to have a more “Mediterranean style” but some options for fussier eaters too. I’ve been there for Brunch, Lunch and Dinner. All good. If going for dinner, order one of the specials, the chef has some great ideas, you can tell he/she enjoys getting creative with the specials. Service has always been good, they’re nice and friendly can’t complain, good food, good prices.”

Captain House Restaurant

● Open
Main Street, Tullamore R35 F6W7, Ireland

“One of the nicest restaurants I have ever eaten in. Staff very helpful esp in dealing with food allergies. House wine excellent. Portions very generous. Wide selection on menu. Excellent quality food. Furnishings rustic. Reminded me a lot of a typical traditional German eatery. Would highly recommend. Can't wait to go back. Well priced for such high quality food. However would need to book in advance as its a small restaurant and very popular with the locals.”

The Kings Mill Restaurant

● Closed
, Kells, Ireland

“Let me start by saying that I rarely take time to review restaurants. I have visited Ireland 4 times, have eaten at many fine restaurants (including those which are Michelin rated), but this is hand down the best dining I have experienced in all of Ireland. There is nothing about this place that isn't short of incredible! From the moment you drive up, you'll be amazed at the stunning view of the Mill and nearby river from the parking lot. The restaurant itself has retained all of its historic qualities, while being welcoming and romantic at the same time. As fantastic all of this is, it's secondary to the remarkable food and service. I am truly sad that I found this place on my last day in the area. I wish I had words to explain how good our meal was, but I do not. The freshness and quality are second to none and I can only assume this is due to sourcing local ingredients. Chef Marcel and crew are able to transform seemingly simple dishes to a level what I would consider to be fine dining. If you are anywhere near Kilkenny and don't take the time to visit Kells and The Kings Mill, you have truly missed out. I will always plan my trip around visiting this great establishment. From the waiter, to the manager, to the Chef, I cannot thank you enough. Dining at The Kings Mill has been the highlight of our trip. I wish you all the best and look forward to dining with you again!”
