“We’ve just had afternoon tea at The Waterbridge for my Mother’s 75th birthday. It’s no longer an open to the public cafe, but an on request venue. As long as you have more than 10 people Annette will open for you and not just for afternoon tea. We had a party of 12. There were no other parties taking place at the same time as us so it was perfect, especially thinking about taking precautions for Covid. Annette was happy to be flexible on the sandwich fillings and even the drinks, tea, coffee and hot chocolate for us. She asked for 50% payment upfront and explained that extra drinks could be bought on the day but as they don’t have a card machine, these would have to be paid for by cash. The food was really nice, everyone enjoyed it and was full. Annette was happy for us to bring any uneaten food away with us. The front half of The Waterbridge has a pretty, vintage feel to it. The back half of the venue is more industrial looking. We had a pretty table in the pretty front section. I would recommend The Waterbridge as a venue for an event. Annette was accommodating and helpful and really friendly on the day. The venue is lovely and the food was great. Thank you Annette”

“Second time visiting The Bragate, always a really nice roast dinner. Huge Yorkshire puddings. Nice selection of vegetables and good portion of meat. Very reasonable price too and can choose between 1,2 and 3 courses depending on how hungry you are. Would definitely recommend. We arrived later in the day on a Sunday but would recommend to book if you desperately want a table as is very popular as close to Bradgate Park”

“Wanted a decent pub lunch, and got just that! Nice and relaxed environment. Really good selection of food and tastes. Had the pie and some starters. Starters were great, Pie was cooked from fresh, which is rarity nowadays, and stuffed to the brim with great pastry and finish. Homemade chips were also very good! Look forward to sampling more! “What I want from an eaterie: I arrive followed 30 seconds later by a menu, a bottle of (Turkish!) water and a bowl of soup. very friendly staff and a sklight sense of being in Kurdistan. When I ordered (lamb, rice, nan, salad and a delicious bean side dish) it was more than I could eat and £6. As they say, result.”

“Miller and Carter. You know what to expect - decent steak at a price that doesn't fully break your bank account balance. The menu is varied enough for most to find something they'll love - unless you're a vegetarian (really, don't go here unless you want choice of about one main). The drinks menu is similarly extensive, plenty of delicious beverages to choose from. I've eaten better steak, but for the price you can't really go wrong, it's good value. One of my favourite things to do in life is to dip the fries into the beef dripping sauce! Best thing about Enderby is the staff though, really friendly and helpful. One waiter even kept a kind and calm composure when a customer ordered a filet mignon WELL DONE, which I'm pretty sure is illegal, so that shows how nice they are. Overall I'll definitely be going back here.”

The restaurant doesn't look stylish which might put some people off however, I tell you something the lamb leg they served us was one the best I've ever tasted. It tasted like home food cooked with heart and soul. That's what makes the difference and I'm glad to have eaten there.”

“We booked two tables here this week as we were assisting our daughter and her friends (all with learning disabilities) on a double date. They wanted to go out for a meal together as a foursome but needed some support. On arrival I spoke to Ruth and explained the two tables. She was amazing. We sat in one room and our daughter sat in another. Ruth helped them and treated them all with respect and dignity. Hannah took over from Ruth and our daughter and friends had a fabulous night. We also had a lovely night and meal, knowing we could relax and let the staff look after our daughter and friends. The landlady was also amazing. We all left the pub satisfied, having eaten good food but more importantly, with joy in our hearts. The care, compassion and understanding of the staff is worthy of such a fabulous review! Order a couple of mocktails...really nice (both of us were driving) We didn't know what we wanted so did tapas style with lots of dishes. All were really good! Fresh and very tasty.
