“I have several pets registered at this practice, they have always provided excellent care for all of my pets. They supported my old boy Milo (14) through the last year of his life as he became progressively more disabled from long standing neurological and mobility issues. I will be forever grateful that they ensured his passing was as peaceful and gentle as it could be for him and for me when the time came. I still have two dogs and a cat, all of whom have attended the practice in the last year for various things, from routine vaccinations, an infected cat bite and an eye procedure. Every time the reception staff are accommodating and welcoming. The vet is always caring and lovely to all of my pets and takes the time to explain/discuss everything with me. I cannot fault them and I am reassured that my pets will always be in good hands.”

“My Yorkshire terrier visited today for superb excellent quality grooming. Ernie is a nervous dog however Lucy's managed to even cut his nails which is no mean feet.”

“We took our Himalayan Persian to get the full works because he’s a nightmare when we try to groom him ourself. They did a brilliant job, and thankfully he was on his best behaviour! What we paid, we thought was a great price because of his breed. We most likely will bring him back every so often for a full groom”

“Made an appointment easily enough as we are new to the area and had to register our dogs. Janice the receptionist was excellent as it was bad news for one of our dogs. The vet was caring and compassionate explaining what would be happening. Thankyou for looking after our dog and us.”

“Our two dogs love coming here, they are well looked after and the pictures we get everyday is a fantastic idea. Now a grooming facility is on site they get a good wash before coming home! Its the only place we trust with our dogs in the local area.”

“What a superb place!!!!! Very different to the usual accommodation, being old railway carriages and a repurposed loading building, but it's fantastic!!! Tucked away in a quiet location, next to a wood, on the very outskirts of Skipwith, it's a lovely place for time away. York is only 20-25 mins away, and the coast at Bridlington, maybe an hour We stayed in Blackberry Halt, the old loading bay. This is the only accomodation with a hot tub. Really really impressed with what they've done with it. Spacious, a big king-size bed with a decently firm mattress (let's be honest, we've all been to places that are great, but they've scrimped on the mattress and its way, way too soft!), great en suite bathroom and a decently equipped kitchen! A really good staging point for a long weekend! The only single thing I could suggest that would improve it, would be the addition of a knife sharpener! I'm a keen cook, and love a good, sharp knife.....the ones currently are blunter than me when I'm on one!! The very minorist of gripes and it hasn't changed my overall opinion that this place is epic, and we will definitely be back, with more friends! The owners are also awesome. The hot tub was a bit too hot, but the controls for that are tightly locked off. A quick text to the owners, and it was sorted inside ten minutes. You simply cannot ask for better than that! Edit: Here's just how good the owners are. Review read, and within 15 mins, a knock on the door and a sharpener delivered. Wow.......just wow.....we are definitely, definitely coming back!!!”

“I needed my cat to be seen by a vet straight away really and they did even tho my cat was registered at other vets then when for there they was very polite and explain everything took time to make sure I under stood what was what brilliant Thank you so much I now staying with you . “Wonderful accommodation and the owners are absolutely lovely. They have become friends for life. It's also a wonderful place to stay with dogs as there is plenty of land for your dog to run around in and Skipwith Common offers great walks and is only 5 minutes away by car. Highly recommend a stay at South Newlands Farm.”

“The receptionists were welcoming on arrival for appointment and helpful with weighing my dog who was reluctant to get onto the scales. The Vet was professional throughout and discussed the best treatment required. Would highly recommend this practice.”

“We’ve just come back from a wonderful 4 night break away at The Oakwood Lodges. Gerry was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The lodges were super comfy and had everything you needed, including a fantastic hot tub. The only thing I’d say is the accommodation isn’t walking distance of shops/pubs so you have to drive everywhere really. However we were very happy with the location as we drove into York everyday and spent our days there! Lovely stay and we’ll definitely be returning again.”

“It was my Cavalier Honey's first time at the groomers, I was more nervous than she was when I took her, came to collect her, she looks so good and wanted to go back in, she loved it! I'm so pleased with the service, how great they was with my baby. I highly recommend them Thank you so much Honey will be returning and be a continuous customer of your's.”

“I can't praise the groomer who took care of my labrador Stan today enough! It was very clear she loved dogs so I felt ok leaving him in her care. This is the 3rd groom room I have used. The first in Barnsley did a good job but the last one I took him to at Birstall was awful. He came out worse than he went in and clearly distressed! This is the first one where his nails were cut as part of the full groom, which was amazing! His undercoat has all been brushed out really well and he smelt lovely. I'm so glad I bought him here. He will be back!! Thank you so much. I wish I had got the name of the girl who was working to name her personally. Great service and a happy owner and dog!”

“The assistant that's here full time is amazing, very friendly and helpful. I get my basic/essential toiletries here now and then, and there has been problems with the till over half the times I've been which has taken a while to sort. This member of staff has been extremely helpful and patient and does a fantastic job with a till system that obviously needs fixing or replacing. I wish I knew her name in the hope that someone important could read this and make sure she receives the due credit she deserves.”

“Lovely clean rooms with tea coffee in room, also in the room TV, desk, ensuite toilet bath and shower. Towels provided. USB charging points, hair dryer. Big car park and a nice pub the brown cow next door with hot food and hot and cold drinks. Breakfast in the morning was in the hotel serving cereals, yoghurts, full English fryup meat and vegi options.”

“Cara, Vic & Hannah are fab. They are amazing walking our working cocker spaniel who is full of energy and often sits by the window waiting for Vic. They are all responsive to messages, reliable and our doggy loves going out with Vic most days & the pictures/updates from the walks are great. They are also really good at accommodating as our days often change each week. Five star service couldn't recommend more! x”
