Hemsworth Water Park
“What a fantastic free day out with the kids. Man made beach, picnic areas, beach shop and cafe. Brilliant”
The Works Skate Park
“Amazing place , went to club strider today and the staff were so friendly and fantastic. The coach had my boys trying new things and helping build their confidence. My twins are 7 and really helped to be able to bring them ‘out of hours ‘ before the older kids came in , although they also enjoyed staying to watch the older kids do their stuff . It’s great to see a place that’s not another commercial chain only after the money , the staff here are really interested and want to help”
The Web Adventure Park
“Really nice day out for the family. There is a big indoor play centre which is excellent for if the weather is bad. Outdoor playground is also good but not as big. Don't bother buying the animal food. Only the goats and the horses can eat it and they are being fed 1000 times a day”
Waterton Park Hotel
“Lovely hotel. Staff were friendly and attentive. Room was warm and clean. Food was excellent in Charlie's and also breakfast was great. Only thing I hoped for were better pillows.”
Bagshaw Museum and Wilton Park
“A great place to spend a morning or afternoon. Free parking and lots of walks and trails to enjoy. Staff were really friendly and enthusiastic, and (shoutout to Elizabeth!) gave us a basic run down of the history of the house and the story of Bagshaw on arrival which was a lovely touch! Three rooms to explore downstairs and three rooms upstairs, my favourite being the Eygpt room! Entry is free, and gift shop is reasonably priced.”
Anglers Country Park
“Beautiful park for a walk, beautiful dam full of ducks, enough parking space pay and display ( first two hours free than charges ) Room on broom storey statues on the e tracts, good motivation for children to keep going, when we visited it was raining but children can get activity book .there is a coffee shop, but when we visited it was closed. We been lakeside trail only there plenty other trails and these tracts are good for cycling as well.”
Sandal Castle
“This is a free, fun, historical, educational place to visit in Wakefield. The car park is free and you just wander around as you want, you can walk all around the remains and there is a brilliant viewing platform on top of what was the keep. The signage used is informative and interesting. These good remains of what was once an impressive hilltop Castle and keep are well worth a visit for an hour or so.”
Diggerland Yorkshire
“Kids loved every minute here, we luckily choose a quiet day so little kids and big kids had loads of turns on their favourite rides. Plenty of spave to have a picnic or good food in the cafe. The indoor jungle Jim is great and allows flagging parents chance to have a sit down with a cuppa while the kids carryon burning up all that energy. Great day out.”
Crow Nest Park Dewsbury
“Had a lovely walk through here whilst travelling through the town. What a beautiful spot...particularly the flower garden. So many plants and really well cared for. Well worth a visit.”
Knaresborough Swimming Pool
“Been going to this swimming pool for years now and it’s stayed amazing the whole time. Not one bad experience that I can remember. A slide, jacuzzi, and a nice atmosphere. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a nice family swim. It’s also very near the knaresborough train station which makes it easy to get to. I think the only bad thing it that it always has a lot of people there.”
Wet 'n' Wild UK Water Park
“Good fun day out”
Hotel Restaurant Campanile Wakefield
“First class Hotel friendly and helpful staff the breakfast was included with the reservation and was one of the best breakfasts we have had in a hotel”
