The building has a rich history, originally known as "The Dolph Building" for the Moore & Dolph Meat Market in the 1880s. It has housed various businesses over the years, including a hardware store, implement and hardware store, millinery store, and a grocery store. The building was later home to the Farmers State Bank, which opened in 1914 and operated for over 60 years before moving to a new location. During renovations for The Vault, an old sub-level vault was uncovered, which held gold, silver coins, and cash for the bank. This vault is now a central feature of the restaurant's concept and design.
