Scoville Park, located at 800 Lake Street in Oak Park, Illinois, is a popular tourist attraction and community gathering place. The park is home to the World War I “Peace Triumphant” Monument, a focal point surrounded by a plaza area. Originally designed by landscape architect Jens Jensen and purchased in 1912, Scoville Park turned 100 years old in 2012 and was named to the National Register of Historic Places. The park underwent a complete renovation in June 2013 as part of the Park District’s Capital Improvement Program. Visitors can also see the Percy Julian Memorial Bust, honoring the renowned chemist and Oak Park resident, as well as a plaque recognizing the first settlers of Oak Park, Joseph and Betty Kettlestrings.
