Lake Lowell Park

Owned by Canyon County Parks since 1970, the park offers a variety of amenities including picnic tables, BBQ grills, restrooms, a water fountain, a disc golf course, and a story trail. Bordering the Deer Flat National Wildlife Refuge, Lake Lowell Park is a popular destination for outdoor recreation. Built in 1909 by the Bureau of Reclamation, Lake Lowell is one of the largest off-stream reservoirs in the American west, providing irrigation water for over 200,000 acres of land in Canyon County. Visitors can enjoy boating, swimming, fishing, bird watching, hiking, and hunting in the park and surrounding wildlife refuge. Motorized and non-motorized boating is allowed seasonally, with restrictions in place to protect migrating and wintering wildlife.
