"As someone who lived here for a year, I can confirm a lot of the 5 star reviews are from raffles the office would run where you could be entered by giving them a positive review, which is why they all flood in at the same time. Do not live here. The elevator was down for months at a time, and every time the power went out, which was four or five times, we would get locked out of the building in the storm since the electric lock system was not on a generator. One of these times I got locked in an unlit stairwell. When our washing machine broke, it took 3 full weeks to get us a replacement. Someone broke into the parking garage and busted into 47 cars in one night, but were never caught due to absence of security and cameras. Staff responded by sending an email blaming residents for holding the door for one another, and the car owners were responsible for all damages. Amenties including the pool and game room are only open from 9-5. If you live there over the summer, maintenance and office workers will let themselves into your apartment multiple mornings a week to prepare for the next tenants despite your lease extending through the end of august. When I moved out, the assistant property manager offered to do a personal inspection of my room to put me at ease about damage charges. After telling me to my face that my room was in good shape and I wouldn’t be charged, I received a $900 bill claiming my entire carpet needed to be replaced and every wall in the apartment needed to be repainted. This was only lowered through a week of threatening legal involvement. The rooms and location may be nice, but the property managers will make your residency a nightmare. Very unprofessional."

"This place is literally awful. The only good thing about this apartment complex is the location. The leasing office managers are horribly rude. Windows were broken when moving in, told them numerous times over the year, never got fixed. The dishwasher broke, the stove broke, the washing machine broke, etc. The ONE elevator was broken for OVER half the year and we lived on the sixth floor. Apartment managers went through our trash? Apartment managers also entered apartment WITHOUT permission. Garage got broken into - that you have to pay $50 a month for - over 40 cars got broken into, smashed windows and windshields. The Blake did NOTHING to fix the situation, except blame tenants for holding the door open for each other."

"My daughter moved in to the Blake this September. She is a freshman at SCAD and was looking to have more personal space than the dorms could provide. She is extremely happy living atThe Blake, she enjoys having roommates, but also having her own bedroom and bath room! We would definitely recommend The Blake if your college student want to have roommates but also their own space. I as a parent live the Safty features that are in place."
