Quay West Ballina
● Closed“The place was warm, cosy & inviting. The food was delicious & piping hot. The service was very good & what we particularly liked was that it was the same lad who took our initial order who took our dessert order. Our only fault would be that the person who seated us didnt give us menus as we sat. We had to eventually ask a passing staff member for menus. Will be back”

Poacher Restaurant
● Closed“We spent a wonderful evening at The Poacher with our two young children. The food was simply fantastic. Excellently combined, tasted and served. No unnecessary frills, but finely coordinated high quality ingredients. We had the mackerel and monkfish for appetizers and steak and venison for mains. The kids had soups and garlic bread. As a cocktail, we can highly recommend the great Old fashioned. The service was excellent and courteous. After we could not decide with the great selection, Daniel advised us perfectly. Even little things that we were asked whether the children want their food already completely to the appetizer, shows how much value is placed on the well-being of guests and also families. We can say with certainty that we have never eaten at such a high level, in such a relaxed and friendly ambience. And at such fair prices. We will definitely come back as soon as possible :-)”

Dillons Bar & Restaurant
● Closed“We went there on a Tuesday (28/2/23) evening around 7ish and it was hopping. You have to get parking on the street as I didn't see a restaurant car park signed. We had to wait about 15mins, maybe, for a table but we didn't mind as the atmosphere was lovely, we were seated at the bar while we waited for a table, there was another couple of ahead of us for a table too. The hosts of the evening, a gentleman and a lady, were very attentive and ensured us that a table would be given as soon as one became available. We browsed the menus (below) while we waited. I got two strawberry mojitos throughout the evening, very delicious. We only got mains; chicken burger for myself and fish and chips for himself. Both were well presented and the portions were great. We were stuffed so couldn't go for desserts unfortunately but really enjoyed our time at Dillons. Will be back if we're ever in Ballina again.”

The Auld Shebeen (Betty's)
● Closed“This is a warm and cozy pub, with a fireplace that is always fully stoked with wood and peat and cozy tables booths and couches to enjoy the atmosphere. The staff are very courteous and professional, friendly too. The owner is a great guy who is often there making sure things are running smoothly. They have sports on the television, not top loud, and a jukebox that plays everything from country to rock to reggae. The crowd there are friendly and it's a nice place to meet people and enjoy the Craic. It's filled with all kinds of interesting artifacts on the walls and would be a great place for a movie set where you step out of the cold windy Atlantic and into a warm cozy pub and depending on the time... a few people there and at other time with more people there enjoying live music. If you come to Ballina, and you want to go to a pub you MUST visit the Auld Shebeen! I recommend this place as a 5 star with confidence... enjoy the Craic!”
