French cuisine restaurant in Longford

“Whilst on holiday in the area we popped into this amazing pub / restaurant for an evening meal. We were very impressed by our overall experience; the food was fresh, hot & tasty, absolutely beautiful so we commend the chef, my partner tried the Guinness & stated it was exceptional, the place was so homely with really friendly & welcoming staff, the premises is spotlessly clean, the decor is tastefully constructed & full of character with lots of outside seating areas which were really comfortable with unique wooden tables. An absolutely awesome place we will definitely be revisiting and an absolute credit to the owners Pat & Imelda who made it their business to introduce themselves & chat to their customers, you have created a wonderful comfortable oasis with the best food we have tasted on our travels & so welcoming. We loved it & highly recommend it.”

“Indian sizzlers is a very nice indian restaurant situated in the heart of longford town. They have variety of food including south Indian dishes which is hard to find in Ireland. I love the food here. Also sometimes, they prepare for you food which are not in the menu , upon request. Highly recommended this restaurant . The staff is also very friendly”

“Easily the best breakfast in Longford! Eggs Benedict on toasted soda bread and the blueberry pancakes are both outstanding when upgraded with streaky bacon. For lunch they do a very generous Chicken Caesar salad. Great chef! X”

“Stopped off en route from the North to Athlone, and in need of some grub and a break. Had the American Burger which was excellent, as were the home cut fries. Was surprised how good the coffee was, wasn't expecting that. Staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient. Absolutely will hit again if on that route...”

“Excellent food and service. I am still using The Shannon Grill and I absolutely love it. I have read some awful reviews but I think they have some other reason to say these things. They are not eating the same food we are ask Harley our huge St Bernard, he loves the fish. The Shannon Grill, simply the BEST. Feb 2023.”

“Amazing food, service, but we had to wait 10min for a table. Totally worth it. The best space for small children to wait so far.”

“We ate here on one night with the kids. We dined at around 5pm We knew there wiuld be a bit of a wait but to be honest it wasn't that bad because staff were amazing and they got the kids food out really fast. Our mains took about 35 minutes from the time we sat down to it being served. Food was really tasty. Kids loved being able to pick their own ice creams for dessert. There is a play area, but its extremely basic. Will go back the next time we're in CPs”

“Excellent Indian takeout dinner yesterday. Ordered online for delivery and everything was perfect. Food was cooked to perfection and was delivered promptly and was hot on arrival. Delicious food. We’ll be back.”

“Had the 6 in one curry there, Twas smashing, curry had perfect consistency of flavours, just the right amount of oil where it's delicious but doesn't leave you sick after and the sliced peppers were tasty and cooked right with slightest crunch showing they weren't burnt. The chips and fried rice were same as anywhere but the chicken was like spice bag chicken mixed with chicken balls and bigger than both. The chicken was the best part. 10/10, definitely will get again, probably tomorrow”

“Had a lovely experience here with family. As I explained to a lovely waiter I had only been watching Rick Stein lately travelling around India in one of his TV series so I was craving a really good curry and boy did I get! One of our dishes was a Rogan josh which I requested to be a little hotter and was beautiful and full of flavour. Have to say I can't really identify with the negative comments on here as we had a fabulous time and great food!”
