"The facts: I called just under a week ago, trying to request an appointment to see my current PCP for a non-annual appointment to deal with an arrising health concern. No one answered so I left a message. Received a call back later, but missed the call. No voicemail was left, no one tried to call me after that. I called again yesterday, and got a call back today. I was told I already had two appointments, five days apart, set for six months from now. I was only aware of one. I explained that the latter of the appointments was scheduled for my annual-wellness exam, but wanted to see my PCP sooner as I am currently dealing with issues causing me discomfort and pain. I was met with a curt "so you want to keep both appointments." It was then confirmed for me that this was the soonest I could get in to see my PCP. My feelings: I'm frustrated. I'm a Tallahassee transplant, so I am used to a MUCH different healthcare system. The system here is so backwards and inefficient. It's wild to me that even when called multiple times, you cant get anyone on the phone. I can overlook that since they have called me back, but I can't understand how one can have a PCP that can only be seen annually, or biannually if lucky. I rarely visit any doctor outside of annuals, but have never been told by any office that the issues and discomfort I am dealing with now, will have to wait six months. How can you possibly build a health-oriented relationship with your PCP/patients if you cant even get in for health concerns? I should have known better, based on the red flags I dealt with during my first visit but that's a different complaint."

"This is the worst office I have ever been to. They do not answer their phones. They will not call you back. They never sent updates to my primary care. They have a policy of scheduling patients for a three month follow up after their cardiac work up. I had to beg for an earlier appointment so that I could try to understand what my tests had shown and what we were going to do about it. I was rushed out of that appointment with no further explanation of what was wrong with me or our next steps because I couldn’t get a word in edgewise with the nurse practitioner. I have never felt so disrespected by an entire medical practice. Go anywhere else if you can. I’ve learned my lesson, and I’ll be schlepping it to Mayo from now on."

"Dr. Del Carpio Tenorio was wonderful, he spent extended time discussing options for care and genuinely seemed to care about his patient's long term wellbeing. The entire process to get records and scheduling done at SMG however, make having a HEART ATTACK seem to be the PREFERABLE OPTION. SMG does not return calls to patients, they do not respond to other doctors request for records, and they seem to have given up on updating their communication system in the late 90's. There is no online way to communicate with them and scheduling for most testing is several months out at the earliest. This would be a great medical office to have your needs taken care of, if and when they join the rest of the world in the 21st century, and start communicating properly."

"was referred to their cardiology department in May 3, 2023, here it is August 4, 2023 and still never got a phone call, no appointment nothing. Seems like whomever receives referrals from primary physicians DON"T GIVE A DAMN and JUST DOESN'T DO THEIR JOB! I guess they rather see people die! Maybe the Cardiologist there needs to look how their office doesn't do work correctly, NEVER WILL I EVER USE SOUTHERN MEDICAL GROUP!"
