Specialists in Companion Animal Neurology (SCAN) - Naples

"It's been a few months since we visited SCAN but I wanted to leave a review about the our experience. We had to take our dog to the ER vet on a Sunday night. They decided we needed to get him into SCAN ASAP so they called Dr. Kelly Sunday and she took us in Monday mornng at 9am. They took such care of him while he was there and made sure he was comfortable while he waited for an MRI. She called after the MRI and gave us several options. We elected not to do surgery at that time and just stuck to crate rest and some good meds. After 2 weeks we saw her again and she made us feel like we had made the right decision and we would continue with the same plan for 2 more weeks. Today Fletcher is doing amazing - walking, playing, etc. and using his stairs to get on and off the couch. We felt like Dr. Kelly was there to guide us help us make the same decision she would have made for her pet. While I hope nobody has to take their pet in for a serious illness or injury, but if you do, please know that they will treat you with the up most compassion."

"Dr. Carnes is extremely thorough, and quickly determined the root of our dog's problem. She made everything easy for us to understand too. We are looking forward to continuing our dog's treatment with her."

"I am so grateful to have Dr. Kelley examine and treat my dog. Her bedside manners are phenomenal, and I could tell instantly that she is extremely sweet and compassionate. She was thorough and clear in her explanations and expectations for what my dog could have. I had left my dog there to be monitored for a few hours while they did all necessary testing and imaging, and they updated me on all her findings, results, and recommendations. I had a ton of questions and never felt uncomfortable about asking them. Dr. Kelley went more than above and beyond what was asked and what she needed to. I am so appreciative of everything that she has done for my dog."

"My 9 year old Italian greyhound, Mia, was experiencing severe neck pain. Our vet recommended that we go to SCAN to find out what was causing her pain. I called on a Tuesday at 10:30, and we were seen the following Thursday at 8:30. It was immediately obvious that everyone in this clinic truly care for the animals they see. After Dr Pancotto examined Mia, it was determined that an MRI would be the next reasonable step. Per the clinic instructions, Mia was fasting when we came for the appointment. This allowed the staff to immediately proceed with anesthesia and the MRI. The MRI showed a very badly herniated disc at C5-6, as well as a smaller defect on the next disc. Mia was taken directly into surgery for repair of the herniation. Dr Pancotto made sure I understood Mia’s condition, the surgical procedure, and what her recovery would look like. Around 4pm of the same day, I was bringing Mia home to begin her recovery. I can’t say enough positive things about SCAN and the amazing and compassionate team that is that clinic. The communication during Mia’s surgery and the following days was greatly appreciated. We are 2 1/2 weeks out from surgery, and Mia acts like nothing has happened. Thank you, SCAN & Dr Pancotto, for giving me back my crazy little Iggy!"

"I just have to say this place is amazing! Warning - this review might get long but it’s worth it! My beloved dachshund, Jack, who is the light of my life suddenly came down with symptoms of IVDD in early May. I took him to his primary vet who referred me to SCAN in Clearwater. Dr. Cook at the Clearwater location was amazing and so kind. He told me he probably needed surgery but I wanted to try alternative methods first. Literally called my vet the day that Jack needed surgery on his day OFF to discuss my dogs prognosis. I did try alternative methods but after 3 days my dog was fully “down” and unable to walk at all and had to do the surgery. Unfortunately this was on the weekend in which Clearwater location was closed. I had to take my baby to the Naples location. Big shoutout to DR. KELLEY! Her bedside manner was impeccable. Literally called me every day with updates. I felt an instant trust upon meeting her and I just knew my Jack was safe with her and in the best care. Because he was in such bad shape and had to stay so long she sent him home with her tech Sam (who was also just above and beyond amazing) his last couple nights because the bills were racking up! They all just have so much love and care for our pets. Cannot recommend enough! Thank you for helping my baby recover and for being there every step of the way. Won’t ever forget your team and your kindness. I pray we’re never back, but if we are, I’m definitely going right to SCAN."
