"Water utility automated pay system absolutely sucks. I don't receive a bill at the service address because, according to them "it's in someone else's name so the post office is sending it to their house" Well that person is my sister and she's not receiving the bill at her home address either. Then they continued to try and lay the blame on the post office but it doesn't make sense. Ive been disconnected every 3 months since I started service because I don't receive the bill and haven't developed a "oh damn I need to pay my water bill i dont think about" reflex yet. it's the only bill that only lets you pay PER MONTH instead of PER ACCOUNT BALANCE when you call to pay. Conveniently charging you $2.50 per transaction. Of course you have the option to pay a sum but the robot will only tell you the balance of each month individually so you won't know the total balance because not even the shut-off notice tells you your total balance. Call customer service and complain about the predatory nature of their system and they say well you should do just it online - it's a better service. Well that's fine and dandy but that doesn't negate nor justify the nature of your OTHER, supposedly "convenient" predatory system that just robbed me. Obviously I got nowhere with these people and it's a shame."

"Regarding the City Water Department: I’ve had autopay for over a year. I set it and forget it because I keep a pretty good budget and know about what the bills will be every month. I got a final notice from the city saying I was 3 months late and they would be shutting off my water. They had changed their system and just not updated it with everyone’s information resulting in it not drafting the payment. Then they tacked on late fees to their bill because they failed to draw the money or notify us. The very next day my mom calls me in a panic saying their water was off and the exact same thing happened to her only she didn’t catch it in time. This is completely unacceptable and they will be collecting money in late fees from people that should not owe them."
