"got the car i wanted for a good price"

"I wish I would have talked with others before taking my 50th Anniversary Corvette Z06 to this shop. When I was young, I knew Richard Jr, and when my car got smashed by a driver who wasn't paying attention to a yellow vehicle in front of her, my immediate unquestioned decision was to go to what I perceived as the pinnacle Chevrolet shop in the area. While I understand that there are some issues with what insurance companies can cover, never, did I anticipate the work I would receive back. The window won't go down, the tint has rolled up in the back, the rear wheel/suspension is making a terrifying clunking noise causing me to feel the car isn't even safe to drive, the wheel that took the entire force of the impact wasn't replaced, the muffler wasn't aligned properly when being reinstalled under the car, there was orange peel everywhere that had been repainted (after I was told multiple times that the area wasn't even painted, even though it was clear that it had been), both window seals have been cracked, and the rear window class seal has cracked, the HUD surround has been cracked, the windshield washer pump motor has been disconnected, and the transmission (which is right behind the wheel that was smashed into at 35 mph is grinding going into gear). I was told that the transmission was only grinding because the clutch (which has only 20k on it) had gone out between the time that the crash occurred and the time I got the car back a month and a half later. I was not told why it only grinds going into first gear, and after driving it, does it going into 4th gear as well. I was told the muffler alignment wasn't due to anything Dimmitt had done, even though was aligned perfectly pre crash. The car did have some fading paint, which was able to be cleaned up with a good buff and compound every year, but now with only the damaged panels being repaired, it's basically a billboard pointing to where the crash had occurred. I can't even begin to go into all the issues that I'm faced with after having a car damaged like this and then repaired as inexpensively as possible. It's extremely unfortunate, because although the car was there for a substantial amount of time, I only called two times to get an update from the advisor about the condition of it. In my mind I was expecting the highest level of service and had no doubts the car would be repaired to every possible level of pre crash condition. Please heed this warning. After telling others I know about the quality of work that was done, 6 people told me a similar horror story of multiple trips back for other items to be repaired, and even denials of things that had been clearly their fault."

"Don't use them for anything. They didn't secure my bed rail on my truck and it flew off down US 19. Glad it didn't cause an accident. They just covered the imperfections on my truck which appeared a couple weeks later again. Go somewhere else!!!!"
