First Step Therapy-Longwood

"I would not recommend this facility to anyone. However, If you do decide to go here, please make sure you attend the session with your child. We saw an “associate” for our second speech therapy session and she was extremely touchy and grabby with my child to the point where I had to tell her not to touch him and I ended the session early. There was no rapport building and she used an iPad the entire time we were there in her attempts to teach him. My child has no developmental delays and is extremely well behaved. There was no clinical reason for her to have her hands on him to redirect him. Needless to say, we never returned after that appointment. I was literally shaking from discomfort. I called to speak to a supervisor and was told I would receive a call back and I never did. I also witnessed staff talking very loosely around some other children with developmental delays and it seemed extremely inappropriate and unprofessional. We attend another facility now that is not associated with this place and it showed me what professional, appropriate speech therapy is supposed to look like. This new place has never once touched my child or used an iPad to teach him."

"My daughter has been working with First Step Therapy since she was born. It's been 2.5 years of dedicated PT (Ms. Aimee) and OT (Ms. Taylor) working with my daughter who has Down syndrome. They work hard in all areas of her gross motor and fine motor skills to make sure we are giving her everything she needs to be a strong and independent girl. They are patient, loving, fun and highly skilled therapists/mentors. They make sure we as the parents have all the information we need to carry her therapy forward in our daily activities. They are invested in her development, and it shows. These early years in development are critical and I can say with complete confidence that my daughter is at the right facility and working with the right therapists to ensure her success in life. Highly recommend."

"This place is great! From the moment you walk in everyone is super nice and make you feel like family. The therapists are amazing and very knowledgeable. I have been to a lot of different places and I can say the center has the best therapist and the gym area is awesome. My son started therapy here and within two weeks you could see a huge improvement. We have Aimee for Pt and Rebekah for ot and I love them both . Is such a relief to have good therapists that truly care."
