Saughton Park & Gardens
● Open“Since I've moved into the area, this place has quickly become my oasis of peace, it's beautifully maintained, offers many things to do and see, you can relax inside in the garden of tranquility with Gandhi and Big Mother, hold the torch with Dreamer of Peace statue, use the public restroom, get a coffee and snack, feed squirrels, feed on sunshine and flowers and trees, observe birds at a nearby river stream, explore a herb garden, it truly is a gem amongst Edinburgh Parks and my place to go to when I wanna just sit, relax, unwind or read a good book.”

Pittencrieff Park
● Open“Visited Dunfermline for the first time, and spent an afternoon walking around this huge park. Lots to see with different areas, woodlands, formal flower beds, a glen with a stream running through, large lawned areas, children's playgrounds and some glasshouses. Grey squirrels can be seen all over the park, and are relatively tame. There's also a restaurant named after the peacocks which have freedom to wander. The park was gifted to Dunfermline for the benefit of it's people by Andrew Carnegie who was born here. There are excellent views over the River Forth, and the Queensferry bridges can be seen in the distance.”

Unleashed Dog Parks - Midlothian
● Open“Fantastic set up, we have a 9 month old labrador who isn't quite there yet off the lead and we wanted to take her somewhere safe and fun for her (and the kids!). Unleashed is a great place to come, very secure and plenty for the dog to do. You drive your car into the field so all secure when taking them out of the car. Fences all have privacy mesh around them and there is a gap between fields so dogs can't interact with dogs in the other field. There is a bit for digging in the sand which went down a treat! The fields are floodlit too if you decide to come at night. There is a tap for water, waterbowl provided and plenty of poo bags around. There is also a portaloo next to the fields. Will definately be back!”

Bonaly Country Park
● OpenEdinburgh EH13 0PB, United Kingdom“One of the best walking experiences within a short drive of the city. Really top class walk with good options if you have kids with bikes or mobility scooters/wheelchairs. There is an Upper carpark for a forest stroll. Lower car park for direct access to the road beside the resevoir. Fantastic scenery with some of the best views of Edinburgh and the Forth you could ask for. You'll get a bit of forest and a bit of rolling hills. Some steep bits if you go off the road. Seasonal Cafe at the foot of the second resevoir. Good for dogs but take care several sections are open to sheep grazing so keep them on a lead. You pick the walk, you can get a 40-60 minute walk in staying to the roads or a couple of hours if you are more adventurous.”

Saughton Park
● Open“I've reviewed this before. It's a great place and very accessible. rose garden, walled garden, medicinal garden, garden bistro with inside and outside bookable tables, play park, skateboard park , playing fields accessible toilet, all level access, helpful and friendly staff. One thing I personally distinctly do not appreciate is the loud music they play inside the garden bistro. This morning (7 Sept 2021) I went for breakfast and coffee and sat outside but the doors were open and the music very loud. I come to the park because its quiet, so don't understand the need for canned music, but I know most people probably like it.”

Ninja Warrior UK Adventure Park Edinburgh
● Open12 Seafield Place, Leith, Edinburgh EH6 7QP, United Kingdom“Brilliant day out for kids. Had to book 3 weeks in advance due to covid restrictions, but worth the wait, kids loved it. First initial visit quite expensive due to purchasing socks gloves headbands but further visits will be £10 per person for an hour, well worth the money. Plenty of seating in cafe, wasn't to busy due to restricted numbers at anyone time. Nice little cafe, reasonable food prices. Nice pleasant staff. We will certainly be back.”
-
Beecraigs Country Park
● Open“There's plenty of car parking all over the park. There's a small animal farm with cows, sheep, deer and Highland cattle. There's a viewing platform with some stunning views toward Fife and Edinburgh weather permitting. There's a small loch you can walk round and it leads to another path that takes you all over the park. The paths can get quite muddy in places and that's with the sun out. The play park is a good size and caters for a wide range of age groups. There's a toilet located across from the play park. The visitor's centre has toilets, shop and a small cafe but it can get really busy at times.”
