Bellamy-Ferriday House & Garden

Open for tours from May through October, visitors can explore the life of Caroline Ferriday, a 20th-century philanthropist who championed human rights and social justice causes. The ten-acre site includes the grounds, a formal parterre garden, and the 18th-century residence built by Reverend Joseph Bellamy. Tours are available on specific days and times, with admission fees varying for adults, seniors, students, and children. Groups larger than 10 people are encouraged to call or email in advance to plan their visit. Originally known as the Bellamy Manse, the property was built by Reverend Joseph Bellamy in the 18th century. In 1912, it was purchased by Henry and Eliza Ferriday as a summer residence for themselves and their daughter Caroline. Caroline spent 78 summers on the property and supported various social justice causes, including aiding survivors of Ravensbrück concentration camp. The house was updated with modern amenities and features a formal parterre garden designed by Eliza and Caroline.
