"I give it a minus 2. A horrible place. I never saw a doctor. They kept me for 10 days because I had great insurance and was well behaved. Suicide attempt were a common reason for being sent there and I had three roommates with bandaged wrists release in 24 hours. We were treated like criminals. No pencils or pens allowed so no journaling. In retrospect, it was comic as in One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. A disgrace to the system of mental health."

"PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS GOOD AND HOLY DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE! I’d rate it 0 if I could. I was repeatedly lied to about when I was going to be discharged. Every time I asked, they said “you’ll probably be discharged tomorrow.” They said that for three days straight. I had to lie about how I was feeling to get out of that vile place faster. Being there only made my suicidal thoughts worse despite the meds and I started becoming progressively more aggressive since the discharge. I only remained sane in that place because I met three other patients (that I won’t name for obvious reasons) that I became fast friends with. We had started talking to one another and I realized that they had also repeatedly been lied to about their discharge dates. One of them had been PROMISED to leave that day but was delayed by another day. The other was told one day but had to find out THROUGH HIS MOTHER, NO ONE AT THE HOSPITAL TOLD HIM that he would be delayed another two days. I had my absolute worst and longest panic attack to date during my stay. It lasted for three hours and was only stopped when I learned that I would be discharged that day. Before my “care”, I was a normal, functioning human being who felt feelings such as happiness and joy. Now I feel empty and disconnected. I sometimes without warning uncontrollably rant to my friends about this horrible experience. I’m a mere shell of what I used to be. I lost a big part of me in that absolute joke of a mental hospital, and I don’t think I’m ever getting it back. I’m only not suicidal now out of fear of being admitted again. Stay away from this place."

"My mother was attacked by another patient and no one was around to help her for 10 minutes while she bled on the floor. No one told me she was sent to the ER, no one was held accountable. This place is abhorrent and their patients aren't safe there. They blatantly ignore calls and refuse to listen to anything anyone says. They will change medications without warning and ignore laws that require them to keep guardians and family members informed. I can't believe we have nowhere else to send our loved ones. This "hospital" is a disgrace. Drive to Pueblo if you're able."

"The staff at West Springs treated me and my child with compassion and understanding. The case managers called and communicated with me every day and kept me up to date on my child’s treatment and progress. My child felt cared for and heard by the staff and actually felt like she was getting the help she needed with group and independent therapy sessions and one on one time during free time where the staff would check on her and have meaningful conversations with her. I cannot say enough good things about the staff on the kids side. I am so happy that my child felt cared for, safe and secure during her stay. Thank you to all of you that were by my baby’s side when I could not be. Your actions will never be forgotten."

"Don't take your children here!! The front staff ladies are nice once they know what's going on. Basically just a place for troubled kids until they decide they're in a good mood and can go home. There are NO behavioral skills incorporated or a plan of action. No rehabilitation whatsoever. If I needed a babysitter I would have hired one.. my son needed help. NEVER AGAIN! This place is a JOKE!"
