"Delicious hand roll, well fried tempura with udon. Their signature roll was also very impressive and unique. We arrived before they opened (at 4pm on a Saturday) and were seated very fast. Shortly after half of the tables were seated."

"They wouldn’t take to-go orders over the phone, and could only place them in person, so we drove a ways to do that. When we got there, we learned the bartender is in charge of BOTH manning the bar and taking to-go orders at the same time, a seemingly impossible ask for them, and frustrating as a customer who just wants to place and order and take it home for their family. Then because they were so busy they unfortunately left out part of our order after 40 minute wait. 18% mandatory gratuity for take-out is also a new concept and one that would keep us from coming back here. The food is good but the system for take-out is hectic / expensive and could be dramatically improved for customers."

"Ok…the food. We loved the sushi, the flavors were bright and fresh and the temperature was perfect, it was a whole experience in my mouth. I’m particularly fond of a temperature gradient when it comes to sushi, so one of the rolls we had was a tempura style roll, it was warm and perfectly crispy on the outside but the innards and fish were still very cold…it was awesome, I love that!! This might seem a weird compliment but the Miso soup was also way above your standard sushi joint miso soup, it was much more rich and hearty…I’m actually still thinking about it. Will definitely come back on our next trip!"

"I recently had the pleasure of dining at the Drunken Monkey Restaurant in Truckee, California. I was pleasantly surprised by the level of energy in the restaurant as it was quite busy. The staff was incredibly attentive and efficient, and the food came out hot and full of flavor. While it may not be the cheapest option in town, it is definitely worth visiting. I was thoroughly impressed with the quality of the experience, and I highly recommend the Drunken Monkey Restaurant to anyone looking for a great dining experience in Truckee."
