"If you are shopping around for hardwood flooring, you should definitely consider stopping by Oscar Hardwood Floor. Jenny and her crew just completed putting in Brazilian Cherry hardwood floor for our bedrooms and we could not be more pleased with the outcome (just look at the photos!). There was already existing hardwood floor in the living room/hall way and Jenny was able to help us find a close match. Compared to other quotes we received, her cost was lower not because her material is cheaply made (she showed us they only use 3/4" thick wood), but she measured how much square footage of material we needed and it was way below what the other company quoted. It's understandable that more material should be ordered for backup and it also depends on how skillful are the carpenters. Jenny's crew didn't need to order too much extra material because they are just that good. During the install, Jenny's crew noticed the baseboard in some of the bedrooms was not going to hold the hardwood down. They informed us that the particle board base used underneath the carpet will not hold the new hardwood floor. They resolved the issue by putting in new baseboards and didn't even charge us extra! Overall, we are extremely happy with Jenny and her crew. Within a few days we had beautiful new hardwood floors in our bedroom. Jenny was very friendly and easy to talk to. We strongly recommend Oscar Hardwood Floor to all our friends & family!"

"I recently remodeled my house, including reflooring the whole house to hardwood floor. I visited several hardwood floor shops in the bay area and found Oscar carries the best quality hardwood floors. The owner couple are very professional and friendly that explained all the details and differences to me with a lot of patience. The price is also very competitive (in fact, the lowest with the best quality). Their hardwood floors are manufactured in Taiwan and the owner does frequently fly back to their factory in Taiwan to pick all the best quality materials. After asking all kinds of questions the whole afternoon, I decided to go with Brazilian cherry. I was a bit unsure even when I picked up all the 100+ boxes. But after my contractor installed for me, I'm so glad that I made a right decision. They look really beautiful (so picture of my new living room, with merely their factory finish, no other magic applied). The floor pieces are very straight, consistent and all in very good quality. I only added 5% extra in my calculation and my contractor even had two unopened boxes left because all the pieces are in good shape that there's pretty much no waste during installation. (That means we ended up using only 3% more materials than actual floor area mainly due to cutting and fitting corners / sides. Really amazing. You won't get so little waste if the floor pieces are in bad quality.) A few tips for those who are considering replacing your floor. If budget allows, go for hardwood floors. They are more expensive, but they are expensive for a reason. You gonna feel the difference once you install them in a large area. Do shop around and do stop by Oscar. The owner couple are very professional and knowledgeable. They're a bit far if you're not in east bay, but it's certainly worth the drive. They don't have a big showroom but they have everything in their huge storage right next to their showroom. The owner will be more than happy to show you and help you choose."
