Established on September 24, 2005, on land generously provided by the Los Angeles County Sanitation District, Loma Vista Park is designed as a passive recreation area, perfect for relaxation and leisure. Enjoy the lush lawn area, shaded by beautiful trees, and take a moment to appreciate the custom bench adorned with artistic elements. In 2007, the park was further enhanced by the Arts Council of Long Beach, which added a stunning mosaic of the sun and solar system. Our library's story began under the guidance of the Wednesday Progressive Club before becoming part of the Los Angeles County Free Library in 1914. After a brief jurisdictional change, we returned to the County System in 1951. The current building, dedicated on December 5, 1964, was renamed in 1992 in honor of Mrs. Mayme Dear, a devoted volunteer whose legacy continues to inspire.
