The gallery features new works by Kala Fellowship artists and Artists-in-Residence working in print, digital media, video, installation, photography, and book arts. Additionally, themed exhibitions are curated throughout the year.
Upcoming exhibitions include the Kala 50-Art Auction Benefit & Exhibition from March 21 to April 27, 2024, and an exhibition by Emma Spertus and Carlota Rodriguez from NIAD from November 13, 2023 to May 15, 2024. "Under the Sky" will be on display from May 18 to July 5, 2024, with an opening reception on May 18 from 4-6pm featuring works by Demetri Broxton, Kota Ezawa, Cathy Lu, Adia Millett, Emmanuel Montoya, Gregory Rick, Rupy C. Tut, and Minoosh Zomorodinia.
Additionally, Kala Art Institute offers curatorial services for businesses, public facilities, and special interest groups, developing small, in-house curated exhibitions on a case-by-case basis. Recent projects include the Milvia/Addison windows display in downtown Berkeley and exhibitions in city government offices.
