Toyota InfoTech Labs, located in Mountain View, California, is a research institution focused on utilizing cutting-edge information technologies to create innovative mobility solutions for future societal challenges. With a strong emphasis on personalization and connected end-to-end solutions, ITL aims to improve the overall mobility experience for individuals while exploring changes in societal needs and behaviors. As a part of Toyota Motor North America R&D, ITL leverages resources from vehicles, infrastructure, and emerging technologies to provide tangible benefits to the public. Led by Vice President Kenichi “Kent” Murata, ITL spearheads society-oriented innovations through cross-functional collaboration. The institution's Core Connected Technologies (CCT) Group, under the direction of John Kenney, conducts research on vehicular communication and cybersecurity to support connected mobility. Additionally, the Intelligent Connected Systems (ICS) Group, also led by Kenney, focuses on researching Toyota's next-generation mobility services and connected vehicle platform.
