Before its transformation, the park consumed tens of thousands of gallons of potable water each summer and required regular maintenance with fertilizers and herbicides. Today, thanks to the efforts of dedicated volunteers and community members, the park saves at least 62,500 gallons of water annually and supports a thriving ecosystem of over 150 plants across 50 species.
