"All my animals went to Anza Animal Clinic since the early 1990s when Dr. Watasi first bought the practice. That was for 35 years! He and Dr. Spadero were THE BEST vets, very knowledgable and always attentive. Dr. Watasi was a great vet. He hired Dr. Spadero about eight years ago. We loved her too! We always could expect a call back from them regarding our pets. We trusted them completely. The rest of the veterinary team were friendly and attentive. Sadly, Dr. Watasi retired last year. Everyone deserves to retire but the new owner soon fired the whole team, and even Dr. Spadero was suddenly gone. The new vet then retired herself and sold to a corporation. We couldn’t even talk to the new corporate vet to get a prescription refill. The place has become impersonal and the opposite of how it used to be. Anza doesn’t exist anymore. We have thankfully tracked down Dr. Spadero in Camarillo at Mission Oaks Veterinary Clinic. We are so grateful to have her back!"

"Updating from my previous 5 star review. My pets were patients of Anza for the past 7 years. My last weeks visit to Anza was my first and the very last visit to the Anza under a new ownership. I brought in a dog that had suddenly developed all the classical symptoms of UTI. The dog was definitely in distress and I was hoping for Dr to suggest something that would make him feel less miserable. Got to see a vet who was uncontrollably giggling through the appointment, was afraid to touch my 17 lbs pup, and who left the room after 3 minutes with no physical exam done. Her last words to me were “The tech will bring you prices for the tests so you can select the one you want.” The disturbing parts are 1. She actually expected **me** to pick and choose the tests 2. I haven’t received a single advice from the vet on warning signs to look for, possible diet adjustments or home remedies to ease my dog’s condition. 3. She hasn’t even tried to do the physical exam on the dog. After she left I got the menu-style list of tests from the tech. The total for the tests on their list was $890. Im not a vet but, in my opinion, if a condition can be caused be 100s of reasons a responsible honest Dr should start with testing for the most common condition and after not receiving a definitive answer keep going down the list. The only test that I wanted to have done - urine culture, Anza did NOT do, they did a bunch of blood tests including parasites tests (why?) and 2 days later told me that they need to keep looking for cause since all the tests came back normal. Money aside, I feel really bad for my dog who had to suffer for extra days because Anza puts money first. This is no longer a recommendable vet clinic, the people at new Anza have neither professionalism nor compassion. I have no doubts that they know how to treat test results but when it comes to treating animals the capacity is just not there. What you will experience at Anza will be a typical large corp business model where pet owners are forced to pay for every existing test (regardless of whether it’s needed or not) to maximize the corps profit. No wonder all previous Anza’s vets had left the clinic. P.S. would had never happened when dr. Watase was running the clinic, the man had the highest integrity."

"Absolutely amazing! Just moved to Thousands Oaks, and I was leary on finding a new vet. I had been with my previous vet for 12 years. Everyone here was great and I was so pleased with the doctor.
