Welcome to the Hawthorne Library, a cherished cornerstone of our community since 1913. Located at 12700 Grevillea Avenue, Hawthorne, California, our library has been a beacon of knowledge and community engagement for over a century. Our facility, which was relocated to its current site in 1962 and beautifully remodeled in 1978 and recently in 2022, serves an area spanning 5.99 square miles. At the heart of our library's vibrant community support is the Friends of the Hawthorne and Wiseburn Libraries, a dedicated volunteer-run organization established in 1979. This group plays a crucial role in supporting library events and services, enhancing the educational and cultural experiences available to our patrons.

Welcome to the Lawndale Library, a cherished community hub located at 14615 Burin Avenue, Lawndale, California. As one of the earliest branches of the County of Los Angeles Public Library, our roots trace back to December 26, 1913. Today, we proudly serve the Lawndale community in a modern facility that opened on March 18, 2009, featuring the stunning glass artwork "Subdivisions" by Anne Marie Karlsen. Our library is more than just a place for books; it's a vibrant center for learning, creativity, and community engagement. We invite young artists to participate in the LA County Library’s 45th Annual Bookmark Contest, and we host exciting events like the One Book, One County celebration.
