With an elevation of 5,000 feet above sea level, the park provides cool evenings even in the summer. Reservations are highly recommended for camping during peak season, and day use fees are $10.00 per vehicle. Dogs are allowed in designated areas, but not on trails. The park is open from dawn until dusk daily, and visitors can enjoy the peaceful surroundings and unique landscape of Palomar Mountain State Park.
