About the Business

Located in Historic Pescadero on California’s scenic San Mateo Coast, Pescadero Creek Inn offers a serene and tranquil country setting to escape life’s hectic pace. Whether it is a hike through towering redwoods or a stroll on a deserted white sand beach, Pescadero will soothe your soul. Midway between Santa Cruz and San Francisco, it is a wonderful trip down Pacific Coast Highway.
Relax in front of a beautiful stone fireplace in the century-old farmhouse or nap in a hammock by the side of Pescadero Creek. Enjoy the spacious decks overlooking the creek and listen to the water go by, and with it goes your cares and worries. Redwoods are a bicycle ride away, while Pigeon Point Lighthouse, elephant seals at Año Nuevo, or walks on long deserted white sand beaches are a short drive. Golfing, horseback riding, wine tasting, whale watching, and fishing may all be found nearby.
The Inn’s parlor is where in the morning you can relax with a cup of coffee and enjoy a good book in front of the large stone fireplace, or share a glass of wine in the evening. Innkeepers Ken and Penny renovated the 100-year-old Pescadero farmhouse in 1992 with the hope of someday opening an inn that would rival the best boutique hotels. Decorated with period antiques, each room at Pescadero Creek Inn has a queen-sized down feather-bed and a private bath with an antique claw foot tub.
The Northern California country inn is your chance to escape the stresses and pressures of modern life. If you have ever felt bogged down by your usual routine then you need to get away to a place where those cares and concerns will not follow. Our San Mateo coastal farmhouse is your chance to spend a little time in paradise, and hear the waves crashing on the beach in the evening. Our California Inn sits in a quiet country setting at the edge of downtown Pescadero. It is a century-old farmhouse that has been beautifully restored and lavishly outfitted with everything necessary for total relaxation. The stone fireplace gives guests somewhere to gather in the evenings to enjoy quiet moments and scintillating conversations. When visiting Pescadero all of Northern California’s coast attractions are there for your enjoyment. You can begin with the California beaches that have all the standard beach attractions. Then you can visit the massive redwoods and take in all that nature in this region has to offer. You can take some time to see the elephant seals or go whale watching. You can spend your free time golfing, horseback riding, or even wine tasting. If you like shopping then all that separates our California coast inn from local shops is Pescadero Creek.
Reviews
"This was an extremely disappointing experience. Most reviews have been high, but it should have been a red flag that there have not been any reviews in months. We stayed at the Garden Cottage. Being in a separate unit was nice, but that's where the positives end. Things are old and falling apart. There was dirt on the table. The glass that accompanied the morning juice was dirty itself with a layer of dark stuff on the bottom (which I only discovered after I had already poured juice into it and almost drank it, yuck). There is no comfortable place to sit with a desk/table. The owners never met us. The welcome letter gives Covid as a reason for no contact, but it's Winter 2024 and there is no reason for this anymore (it's perfectly fine for people to wear masks if there are health concerns). There was zero feeling of hospitality. The single thing going for this place is its location as it's very close to town and also next to a nice little creek. I would never stay here again and advise others against doing so until the owners take cleanliness, functionality, and hospitality more seriously."
"This place was definitely a charming, comfortable, rustic ocean cottage. If you are looking for room service, a hot tub, or a jacuzzi, this may not be the place for you. There is a short walk into town for your needs and a very short drive to the beautiful ocean and sea cliffs. This place is awesome! I would definitely recommend it, and we plan to return in the near future."
"Nice place and Pescadero is great. I was in the Rose room. It’s right off the entry so not the most private. Ken the proprietor is a nice dude and reservation on line and check in were smooth and easy. Decode in the Rose room is B&B grandma’s house style but very clean and not dusty. Shower is old school with tub and curtain. Pescadero is a great place to stay. I love Duarte’s there, but be aware good is only served from Thursday mid day through the weekend. Bar seemed to be open evenings. Everything else seems to close at 5pm except the gas station which has a grocery section and Mexican food. I had a child reyeno one night. Poor quality and flavor."
"Great way to experience the area. I am staying in the Rose Room while I'm in town to visit family. The bed is really comfortable and I slept great. I'm sitting here at the writing desk by the window, enjoying my coffee and juice served served on a tray with rose teacups, hearing the old church bells next door. Big Jane Austen energy! :) The vibe is peaceful and thoughtful. I can soak in the clawfoot tub, or be at the beach in 5 minutes. The walkable neighborhood has a coffee shop, small market with a deli in the back, a local made goods store, and a tavern. The opening hours are short windows of time, but you don't really come to Pescadero for a "city that never sleeps" experience. I'm looking forward to hiking nearby redwood Forrest's tomorrow."
"Really wonderful hosts. I searched for a bed and breakfast and this was in the bed and breakfast category. And what they did serve in the morning was delicious dash delicious coffee and delicious juices. But don't go there thinking that you'll get breakfast. The rooms are visually quite quaint. the shower was wonderfully hot in the morning but at night the shower is lukewarm. the rooms could do with a few more amenities dash like tissue. But the beds are absolute heaven and the sheets the silkiest feel. And this place is fairly priced for the area and gives you a chance to get away for $195 and there's no poo poo in that"
