Potter Schoolhouse
● OpenWelcome to Potter Schoolhouse, an iconic landmark nestled in the charming town of Bodega, California. Located at 17110 Bodega Lane, this historic building is best known as one of Alfred Hitchcock’s filming locations for the classic thriller, "The Birds." Built in 1873, the Potter Schoolhouse, with its striking white wooden architecture, played a pivotal role in bringing Hitchcock's vision to life. Although it once served as a community center, inn, restaurant, and guesthouse, the schoolhouse is now a private residence. We kindly ask visitors to respect the privacy of the current owners by admiring the property from a distance. Just a stone's throw away is the picturesque St. Teresa of Avila Church, another key location featured in the background of several memorable scenes from the film. This historic church, dating back to 1860, offers a glimpse into the past and a connection to the cinematic history of "The Birds."
