The Degrezia family later moved to California and opened Ambrose Pizza Uptown Whittier in 1972, followed by locations in Laguna and Fullerton. In 1985, Ambrose Pizza La Mirada opened its doors and quickly became a local favorite. In 1987, Alonzo Lepe began working at the La Mirada location as a cook and eventually purchased the restaurant from the Ambrose family in 1997.
