The pizzeria was named after Ambrosio Degrezia, an Italian immigrant who opened the first Ambrose Pizza in New York in the 1960s. The Degrezia family later moved to California and opened Ambrose Pizza Uptown Whittier in 1972, followed by locations in Laguna and Fullerton.
In 1985, Ambrose Pizza La Mirada opened its doors and quickly became a local favorite. In 1987, Alonzo Lepe began working at the La Mirada location as a cook and eventually purchased the restaurant from the Ambrose family in 1997. Under Lepe's ownership, Ambrose Pizza La Mirada has thrived, maintaining the authentic Italian recipes that have made it a unique and delicious dining experience.

They had me on hold on the phone for so long that I decided to go in person to see what was going on. Turns out that they had me on hold on purpose. Never going back there again."

(Yes, I ate 2 small pieces the tip.) made no sense that I paid $30 for bad quality"
