"Things started out great, even in the beginning of COVID. he was more than helpful working with us on our payments, our payments were always made on time until COVID hit, when my husband's income drastically decreased. In December we spoke to him, made a payment with him and he told us that should cover us until January if not he'd call us back the next day. We never heard from him. January comes along and we call to make a payment, he won't answer his phone and won't return our calls. So we call Farmer's directly. They tell us our insurance has been canceled due to nonpayment and we'd have to pay a reinstatement fee in order to make a payment. We thought this was a good time to to start looking for new, cheaper, insurance, which we did. Since then we have been hounded with phone calls, letters/bill and emails asking for payments and mileage verification. We've explained this story to them repeatedly. Yesterday I finally got to speak to someone that sounded like she understood the situation. Now they want us to prove we have insurance with another company (our vehicle isn't financed any more so it's none of their business who we are insured through) and they want us to sign a declaration page because the cancellation wasn't completed properly. We weren't the one that cancelled the insurance, they were, so it's not our fault that it wasn't done correctly! If we don't jump through these hoops they are going to charge us for the last three months. Yes I can provide the information but I shouldn't have to, they didn't want our money then but now they do. And I'm not thrilled about signing a declaration if it's not something we did. 2 weeks later they are still trying to get money and now they are contradicting themselves regarding payments made. Thankfully I have proof This has been going on since the middle of March. This agency messed up and they are trying to make us pay for it!"
