"Unethical Service! They TOOK ADVANTAGE of my 86 year old father by OVERCHARGING him $4,100 in car insurance! They assigned him to a company who charged him more than double of what my father was paying with AAA. UNETHICAL! and they Never took responsiblty for their NEGLECT and Horrendous customer service. After my step mother passed away my father was reviewing his finances. He met the owner of BGA Insurance on the golf course & shared his story. Immediately following the golf game he was emailed & invited to BGA for a review of his current (10) policies and told "I think we can save you some money". My father gathered up all of the current policies and took it to the meeting. It was at this point he was handed over to another agent to "REVIEW & COMPARE" the policies.... Trent was able to gain my fathers trust to the point that my father gave him his credit card without a complete total of all 10 of the policies... It wasn't until I began to assist my father with his finances that I discovered he had been overcharged $4,100! Same Vehicles, for the same time period, AAA charged 50% less. Because Trent had my fathers credit card he was charged AND THEN mailed numerous packets with the (10) policies. When I reached out to Trent, BGA Insurance put the blame onto MY FATHER for not filling out mileage paperwork that he (supposedly) had been emailed. I told them my father is an 86 year old that is not savvy with the internet. I then performed a search on my fathers email, only to find, with the exception of the initial invitation to have his policies reviewed to "save him money", there was NO OTHER communication from BGA. I informed Trent of that, & he claimed my father was mailed a hard copy.... not true. My father is very organized and keeps ALL of his paperwork in folders; which I thoroughly searched and did not find any such form that required proof of mileage to be returned. Trent then emailed me a copy of the mileage form that he said my father "HAD" been mailed.... only there was (1) problem; the DATE had been altered, backdated to 2021, and did not match the font with the rest of the letter. When I inquired about that, Trent said he received the letter from the wholesaler. I then called SAFECO, directly, and had them RESEND every form of documentation that had ever been sent to my father... I was able to confirm NO MILEAGE FORM was ever sent for the said 2021-2022 insurance policy term. I sent over the requested documentation showing my 86 year old father only drove the car 1,800 miles.... and spent $3,218.00 for this (1) vehicle with BGA Insurance The ENTIRE coverage with AAA for 2021/22 for (1)RV & (3) of the identical vehicles was $3,486.00 for the same insurance coverage, during the same time period. 2022-2023 insurance term my father was sent a renewal from BGA Insurance for the vehicles to the tune of $8,814.76!!! Trent never reviewed the policies... just sent out the renewals. My father was Extremely Upset and asked me to review the details together. The AAA quote for 2022-2023 for the identical vehicles for the exact same coverage & time period was/is $4,532.00. BGA Insurance- $8,814.76. Let's see... $4,300 overage x (Numerous years) if not caught =?? BGA has "NOW" shifted the blame from my father not following through with returning mileage forms, onto SAFECO for changing the mileage from 3,500 miles to 13,000 a year. BGA (Attorney) claims it was SAFECO error and we should communicate directly with them to resolve. Bottomline is if Trent were a competent insurance agent representing my father with SAFECO, he would have contacted my father and notified him when the mileage was raised to discuss and resolve. The ONLY contact my father received was a Renewal for 2022-2023 for $8,814.76. Trent is so inept, he never reviewed the policies. Just sent out the renewal. Needless to say my father is VERY Distraught and feels Victimized. One "hears" and is "WARNED" of businesses TAKING ADVANTAGE of elderly people. I NEVER dreamed my father would be victimized in this way."
