Welcome to the Ruth Bach Public Library, a cherished community hub located at 4055 North Bellflower Boulevard, Long Beach, California. Established in February 1958, this library was named in honor of Ruth Bach, Long Beach's first councilwoman and a dedicated advocate for the Lakewood Village community during the 1950s. Our spacious 7,000-square-foot facility, nestled alongside Heartwell Park, replaced the original Lakewood Library, which served the community since 1938. As one of the most beloved branches of the Long Beach Public Library system, the Ruth Bach Library continues to be a vital resource for residents and visitors alike.
