Welcome to the Lloyd Taber-Marina del Rey Library, a cherished community resource located at 4533 Admiralty Way, Marina del Rey, California. Established in 1976 by the Los Angeles County Department of Beaches and Harbors, our library was designed to cater to the unique needs of the Marina community. In 1999, thanks to the generous contributions of the Marina Foundation, the Board of Supervisors, and the County of Los Angeles Public Library, we proudly expanded our facility to include the William R. Pagen Nautical Wing and the Greg and Mimi Wenger Community Room. Our library was renamed in honor of Lloyd Taber, a key benefactor whose support was instrumental in our development. Situated in the heart of a vibrant small craft harbor, the Lloyd Taber-Marina del Rey Library offers an extensive Nautical Collection, tailored to the interests and informational needs of boating enthusiasts and the local community. We are committed to fostering a love for reading and learning through a variety of programs and resources, including our annual LA County Library Bookmark Contest, which invites young artists to showcase their creativity.
Wiseburn Library
Welcome to Wiseburn Library, a cornerstone of the Hawthorne community located at 5335 West 135th Street, Hawthorne, California. Our library is a proud part of the Los Angeles County Library system, offering a diverse range of services and resources to inspire and educate visitors of all ages. Wiseburn Library's history is deeply rooted in community advocacy, dating back to 1952 when the Wiseburn Coordinating Council successfully secured mobile library services. This effort led to the establishment of a permanent library facility in 1956, thanks to the tireless work of local residents and support from Los Angeles County officials. Nestled in the heart of View Park-Windsor Hills, our library serves as a cornerstone for residents in this unique unincorporated area, just west of Los Angeles, north of Inglewood, and southeast of Culver City. Founded in 1940, the View Park Library has a rich history and a strong connection to the community. Originally housed on S. Harcourt Avenue, the library moved to its current location in 1977 and proudly showcases a mural by artist Frank Matranga. In 2015, we were honored to be renamed after Bebe Moore Campbell, a beloved View Park resident, bestselling author, and mental health advocate.
