Cape Mendocino Lighthouse (Original Location)
The Cape Mendocino Lighthouse, originally located on a cliff at the westernmost point in California, is now situated at Mal Coombs Park in Shelter Cove. Built in 1868, the 43-foot tower was 422 feet above sea level and was automated in 1951. The light and Fresnel lens were moved to Ferndale, where they can be seen at the fairgrounds.
