Established in 1976 by the Los Angeles County Department of Beaches and Harbors, our library was designed to cater to the unique needs of the Marina community. In 1999, thanks to the generous contributions of the Marina Foundation, the Board of Supervisors, and the County of Los Angeles Public Library, we proudly expanded our facility to include the William R. Pagen Nautical Wing and the Greg and Mimi Wenger Community Room. Our library was renamed in honor of Lloyd Taber, a key benefactor whose support was instrumental in our development. Situated in the heart of a vibrant small craft harbor, the Lloyd Taber-Marina del Rey Library offers an extensive Nautical Collection, tailored to the interests and informational needs of boating enthusiasts and the local community. We are committed to fostering a love for reading and learning through a variety of programs and resources, including our annual LA County Library Bookmark Contest, which invites young artists to showcase their creativity.
