"This is one of my all-time favorite restaurants and a visit to Carmel is not complete without dining here. I used to come here with my family 50 years ago. Mom would first go shopping because there used to be a Magnin's store near here. We were promised a treat if we were good with one of their incredible pastries. I am so delighted that this this restaurant has maintained their exceptionally high standards. The atmosphere is so elegant, and warm and charming, that you feel completely transported. This place is more than a restaurant, its a treasure."
"Was recommended this place by a friend and really enjoyed our dinner here. The vibe is cozy French cottage, and the food is classic French dishes, done very well. Really loved the French onion soup. The beef short rib is in such a flavorful Demi glacé and the meat was juicy and tender. The lamb shank fell right off the bone and came with a delicious gratin. I recommend making a reservation in advance, as they seemed quite booked up on a weekend."
"My duck confit is so tender and juicy! Love the decorations. The service is awesome too. The waiter is very attentive. The couple sitting next to me spilled over their wine. The waiter just quickly cleaned it up and poured them another glass of wine. I hope they tip him well!"
"We just ate a fabulous lunch here. We started with a lovely French Onion soup as a starter. Then we moved on to our entrees. My wife had the chicken pot pie and I had a shepherd’s pie. We will debate for some time which was better but they were both excellent. Our server was spot on with just enough attention to make us feel pampered but not overwhelmed. A really enjoyable lunch and we will most certainly return for more of that great French Onion soup…"
