"I've been a patient of Dr. Touma's for years, and I've always found her to be prompt, competent, friendly, and professional. The office staff are a different story. This morning I showed up for my 8 am appt on time but had to wait in the foyer while the front desk worker logged onto her computer (customer service tip: let the patients in, greet them, then log in--or log in before 8am if that's the first appointment time). When she opened the door, I got the feeling she was annoyed by our presence. She didn't say "hello" or "good morning," just open the door and walked away. When I approached the reception area, the same employee asked what I needed. I said I'm here for an 8 am appointment. Rather than say something nice like "oh we're sorry but..." I was informed office staff tried to reach me back in March with a post card and some texts to notify me Dr. Touma would be at a conference on this day. I went back through texts and calls, nothing from her office. One of the office workers repeated, in lecture mode, that they tried to reach me by mail and text. I asked her to please lower her voice because she was borderline yelling. I said maybe rather than texts and postcards have an actual conversation with the patient. She said there's notice of "reschedule pending" in my chart. Doesn't "reschedule pending" signify this patient, who is seen 2x per year, needs follow up? I was frustrated by the lack of personal regard for a long time patient. I don't go to a dermatologist for cool sculpting or other aesthetic treatments. I go because I want to stay ahead of a high risk skin condition. I've felt the coldness from office staff and assistants before but overlooked it because I like Dr. Touma and felt comfortable with her. I can't continue to overlook rude and dismissive attitudes from the staff, so I won't be back."

"My mother, Pearlene Kuhner, had a large cancerous place on her FACE that was missed by Susan Tuma at two consecutive appointments. No suspicious areas were ever reported. This negligent prognoses resulted in my mother having an incision significant enough to have stitches below the surface as well as several visible. I fear for many who have been under her care. Search further."

"Dr Touma did a great exam of my skin. But I had question I want to ask. I felt rushed through . Never had a chance to talk with her. Maybe it was because I had a late afternoon appointment. Wish she would ask me if I had question. Other than that was pleased with staff."

"I tried to change my prescription and called to see if I could stop my previous medication, then Dr. Touma was not in the office and they said they will call me later to answer my question. They called me 3 weeks after the call. Also in the meantime I went ahead and bought the new treatment at her office and I asked my question there(after no receiving any call back), the nurse in charge said: stop the other medicine.Again back after 3 weeks of my first call they call me to answer my question, I asked again and they said: no, you shouldn’t stop the medication. WTH? I’m thinking of changing dermatologist after my next appt. hope it helps."
