"BEWARE. Complete waste of time. After receiving proposals from four roofing companies, we decided to use Spence Company LLC. While setting up a date/time to sign the contract and pay the deposit, we received an email from the owner (Matt Spencer). Matt said he needed to revise the contract before we signed. The new contract was $10,590 higher! Yes, you read that correctly. TEN THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED AND NINETY DOLLARS MORE. A 30% increase! It was the EXACT SAME QUOTE (see photos), but $10,590 higher. We were very specific about the shingle - and that shingle was listed correctly on the first contract. He said he made a mistake - that's quite a mistake! We agree upon a contract and then you take it back and increase it by $10,590?!?!? Do NOT waste your time or take this company seriously. UPDATE: 8/16/24 While we understand Spence Company's need to minimize the situation, let's be clear. It was not an "initial quote" - it was a CONTRACT. We were ready to complete the contract with our signatures. Do not take my word for it - see the attachment. We were literally setting up a time to sign it and make the deposit when we received an email with a new contract with a TEN THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED AND NINETY DOLLAR INCREASE."
