"Contrary to that of many reviewers here, my experience of the Florence SSA office was positive. I made an appointment online about 2 weeks in advance, and after I checked in, I waited less than 10 minutes to talk with an employee. The purpose of my visit was to request a replacement SS card. The lady who assisted me at window #5 was calm, and she spoke clearly and concisely. The duration of my visit, including the time spent waiting, was roughly 20 minutes, probably less. The security guard was watchful but not unfriendly—well suited for the job, in my opinion. I read reviews before coming, and I wasn't looking forward to my appointment. Luckily, though, my experience was favorable."

"When we called this morning at the beginning of the call we were told it would be a 29 minute wait. That was at 930am. I'm still in hold and it's after 11. We should have never had to talk to them today in the first place because we called them two weeks ago."

"I went in there with high anxiety based on all of these terrible reviews posted. I would like to say on behalf of my two year old and myself we were in and out within a half hour. Got there at around 9:10 after the line outside went in. My son was babbling away and the security officer was so kind and the lady at the window was so kind. So helpful and made it a super smooth process. Planned my day to be there half of the day and I was only there a half hour."

"Showed up this morning with an appointment. Myself and about forty others have been standing outside for half an hour past open. They said they can't open until a security guard gets here, and they don't know how long it will be. Absolutely ridiculous at this point. Why is there no plan B in place? One person being absent really shuts down the entirety of the business? People take off work, take their time, gas money, etc to come and take care of these things in person since it's not even an option to do online. Extremely inconsiderate and unprofessional on such a high level. This amount of disorganization and lack of planning is truly ludacris. Update: They came out at 10am (an hour after open) and informed us all that they were still unable to open, and it could be several hours before a security guard came for them to open. My husband and I left, and went to the social security office downtown on Main Street, which is 15 minutes away. We were in and out within five minutes. We should've just went there in the first place."
