"Tuesday I was riding my mobility scooter running some errands. My battery depleted and I pushed it to the fire station on Roosevelt. They let me rest briefly and gave me a bottle of water. Then a young man drove me to my home. This act of kindness really touched my heart. God bless our first responders."
"You can’t reach anyone, it says press 0 but then hangs up on you. Their policy is to ignore the people who pay their wages. I moved out of this city for over 7 yrs. Upon moving back and setting up water I was informed that I needed to come in to the city tax dept and prove I didn’t owe them taxes because “I didn’t call and notify them I was moving out”. During this time I worked and paid my taxes where I did live. I refused, because it is none of their business where I worked and lived outside of their city. As long as I legally paid what I owed, where I owed it, I saw no reason to have to answer them. Today my daughter and her children, one disabled and one infant, had water shut off even though she paid the bill. They refuse to turn it on today, even though she has no way to feed the baby until I get home and can bring them water. An infant, no food for 24 hrs., yet they have the money. Then to be lectured that they needed to pay earlier, as if they could do anything about their bank account being compromised due to an Experian hack. They have been trying to navigate their way through making sure nothing else is affected."
