"I did the online pre-check in + pick your car online. My car was immaculate and in great condition. Drop off was just as easy and the staff were great. They didn't make me feel rushed which was a nice change of pace compared to other places I've rented from"
"I recently rented a car from Thrifty and encountered a series of issues that significantly impacted my experience. Despite completing an early check-in to expedite the process, I was unable to access my rental details through the provided link due to an error code. Upon arrival, the staff insisted on a physical credit card despite my use of a virtual one, which was supposed to be acceptable for online transactions. Reluctantly, I used my debit card, which incurred a $500 hold. Additionally, I faced a problem with the fuel gauge not registering after refueling, and upon returning the car early due to this issue, I was erroneously charged for a cracked window and for not refilling the tank, despite my previous complaint. The manager, Bridgette, was unaccommodating and dismissive of the situation. Although she agreed to reverse the incorrect charges, there was no offer of compensation for the inconvenience and overdraft fees incurred due to their error. To date, I have not received my deposit back nor a refund for the wrongful charges, totaling $681. This experience has been distressing, and the lack of empathy and customer service was disappointing. I would caution others when considering renting from this location."
"The car we rented in Orlando airport was filthy dirty and smelled like someone had urinated in it. Every time we drove it, we felt like we had to take a bath. Why would they rent a car to a customer in that condition is beyond me. I called the rental company when we arrived at our hotel because we were in a hurry and I complained about it and I never heard back. I wrote and left messages but noone returned my call.. also, you needed the key to open the trunk of the car. You needed to push the buttons down to lock the car and you had to roll the window down, who rents a car like that nowadays and the price was like $40 a day for a Chevy spark, which is like a little rollerskate. Not a professional company. I will never rent from this company again and I woke definitely not recommend."
"On April 24, 2024, we went to pick up a rental that we had booked a couple of weeks back. The customer service at the downstairs counter was terrible. The lady working there refused to get us a rental because she said our credit card looked old. How can you deny a card just because it looks old? My driver's license matches, and she even checked the card with a fraud machine, but still refused to give me a rental car. She could have simply run my card, and if there were any issues, then she could refuse to provide the car. So, I went to Enterprise Car Rental. It didn't take them 5 minutes. We had a car rental waiting for us in the parking lot. All in all, it was a bad experience, and we will never recommend them to anyone."
"Horrific!!!!!!! Had to wait in line for an hour and then another hour after I checked in because they had no cars ready. Thrifty’s response will be some generic “we are sorry”. That doesn’t feed the bulldog! Thrifty will do this again because they have no consequences. I was ready. They were not. Airlines have a consequence when they overbook. Rental car companies do not. So they will keep doing it! I suspect they artificially created a long check in line to delay because when I did get checked in I still had to wait another hour for a car. Additionally there were a bunch of people standing behind the counter doing nothing. Why not help? If they were really sincere they would issue refunds. Shame on you Thrifty! Shame on you! Answer me this Thrifty. If I turn in my rental car late you charge me by the hour …right? Now when your late can I charge you by hour.? Rented a lot of rental cars in my time. This was my worst experience!"
