"these people literally make me sick to my stomach. if you are moving in this vicinity of this company, PLEASE reconsider. I’m a severely terminally ill heart failure patient who has to have access to wifi / power at all times for my heart monitor. i called explained this to the company they do not care i am barely freshly two weeks past the due date and am already shut off this is the 2nd or 3rd time they did this already. i called and they explained this is their policy. i have NEVER had a company with such an extreme time frame for payment. they don’t want to give extensions, work with you, or nothing. everyone else does their best to work with us and we get it to them but 2 weeks?? and then disconnect?? that’s a little extreme especially for terminally ill people. this is an extremely money hungry company right here and if i had any other choice would leave and never turn back. but unfortunately dont have the option now. if you do- turn the other way and RUN."
"If I could give less than 1star I would. The customer service is absolutely the worst. But, what do you expect from a monopolistic gov agency full of unaccountable bureaucrats. What is needed is competition and certainly customer service training.."
"I hate to write bad reviews, but I have given this company 5 months to make it right! I signed up for new power at my boat slip in March 2024, I believe? I rented a slip in February, but couldn’t get my boat there yet. I went to Alcoa utilities and they said the lease was over 30 days, so it was no good! I needed a new lease before I could get power. I went to the marina and explained to them that Alcoa doesn’t care if it’s a boat slip, I need a new lease! They laughed and said, sure, no problem. I took the new lease back to Alcoa and they said the meter hadn’t been used in over a year, so it will need a meter inspection at $25 additional; I said fine, not a problem. I paid all the fees and went on my way. About a month later, I had no power. I made phone calls and nobody knew anything. They redirected me to dispatch. Dispatch gave me the phone number of the meter inspector! I left him a message and never heard back. This circle of phone calls went on for months! There’s still no power four plus months later, no one cares, I can’t get any resolution and there’s zero accountability there! It’s unbelievable how an organization can exist that runs business this way! Obviously zero star rating and left empty handed! These people answer to nobody and they don’t care!!!! Unbelievable!!! They would be bankrupt in the private sector! So sad! Worthless company! Completely worthless!!!!!!!"
"I wouldn't even give a star if I had too. The Seymour side of Blount county is always forgotten about when our power goes out. We've been sitting in the dark for two hours, was told someone was coming over an hour ago and I've still yet seen anyone."
"This stupid place doesn't care about poor people at, they are the most disrespectful place every. I live with my 3 year great nephew I usually average around 2,300 to 2,400 gallons of water a month. The month before the last I used around 2,400, the next month they side I used 6,800 gallons of water and this month back down to around 2,300 gallons. But it does matter what u say your always and I said it once and I will say it again Alcoa Electric Company you guys suck."
