As a proud member of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), we are a small congregation with a big heart, committed to serving others and embodying the teachings of Christ. We invite you to join us on our journey as we explore the direction God is calling us, both within our local community and beyond.
If you're searching for a church home, we warmly welcome you to visit us. Our Sunday school for all ages begins at 9:30 AM, followed by worship at 10:30 AM. We also offer online worship services, ensuring everyone can participate. On the first Sunday of each month, we come together to celebrate communion.
At Powell Presbyterian Church, we rejoice in the diversity of God's creation, celebrating each individual as wonderfully made in God's image. We are committed to affirming the value, dignity, and full inclusion of all, particularly our LGBTQ siblings. We strive to reclaim the radical good news of the gospel, proclaiming God's unapologetic love for everyone and embracing the sacredness of all loving relationships.
In light of recent world events, including the tragic deaths of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, and Breonna Taylor, we stand firm in our commitment to racial justice. We affirm that all human beings are created in God's image and reject any notion of racial hierarchy as contrary to God's vision of unity. Powell Presbyterian Church is dedicated to unmasking hidden racism and actively becoming an anti-racist community through education, intentional practice, and acts of social justice.
We recognize the misuse of scripture to justify racist behavior or beliefs as a grave sin. At Powell Presbyterian Church, we uphold the true message of the Bible: love for all creation. We reject any interpretation that does not embrace this understanding and are committed to living out God's call to love as we have been loved.
